    Harry,

Please excuse my earlier mistake. It appears it should have been Reset Instruments to get new session templates.

      Harry,

      Additional questions from development:

      1. What were your settings for Tools-->Options-->Data-->Real-time data-->Save chart data as historical? If it is true, any different if you started cleanly with this setting set to false?

      2. When you say switch instruments on the chart to remove the gap, you are using the chart toolbar dropdown to make the switch? Or are you making the switch simply by opening a new chart and closing the prior?

      3. You are doing this off empty workspaces right? No workspaces open in the background? For sure no Market Analyzer with an indicator column open?

      Thanks.

        Hi Josh,

        (1) Tools -> Options -> Data -> Real-time data -> Save chart data as historical is always set to false (empty box), as I have already had issues with this in NT 6.5.

        (2) Changing instruments via chart toolbar dropdown, then changing back. It is not necessary to close the chart. Changing template of the chart will not fill the gap, but changing instruments back and forth fills it.

        (3) When I checked today, there was an empty workspace Untitled 1 open, but otherwise I only use the default workspace. Never have used a market analyzer with NT7, still testing the basics. I will check it again this evening with my notebook -> no workspaces there, just one chart with no template. Have to wait until after the close to produce it.

          Hi Josh,

just to confirm findings for question (3). Just started NT. Closed everything, so that only the default workspace with Control Center was open. Then I connected. Then I opened a default chart for NQ.

All data between last download of historical data (about 21 hours ago) and session end is missing. I now use the NT default session for CME US Index Futures.

YM, ES and TF (all Globex session) showed exactly the same behavior, so it is 100% reproducible on 2 machines. I also happens wiht other instruments that have a session break prior to midnight, if I load historical backfill after session close but before midnight.

            Harry,

It is not evident to me what timestamp those bars on 3/25 are timestamped as. Can you please check? Thanks.

It is a 5 min chart. For March 25 there are only 5 bars.

The first bar is the Doji at 0:05 CET (18:05 US Central Time) just before the gap. That is when I loaded backfill yesterday evening.

The other four bars after the gap have timestamps of 21:35, 21:40, 21:45 and 21:50 CET (this is 15:35, 15:40, 15:45 and 15:50 US Central Time), so just after the Globex session break.

                Harry,

Okay. To clarify this point too, "I now use the NT default session for CME US Index Futures."

                That means ETH correct?

What I am going to try:

                1. Get full set of data as of today right now.
                2. Disconnect and close NT for rest of the day
                3. Tomorrow at 15:30 exchange time I will reopen NT and look at the data then.

Any modifications to these steps you want me to take? Hmm thinking, this may also not work as Friday will not have data come in after 15:30. If that is the case I will try Monday.

                  (1) Yes using Session Template CME US Index Futures ETH

                  (2) You do not need to wait. You can check it right now, I just tried it and this procedure also produced the gap:

                  (a) Set system clock to CET
                  (b) Download historical minute data for YM using CME US Index Futures ETH template from Interactive Brokers
                  (c) Disconnect
                  (d) Edit Historical Data Manager and delete minute data for March 25 manually -> this is now an identical situation as if you had loaded backfill yesterday evening ....
                  (e) Reconnect and open new chart in empty workspace for YM -> gap should show up

                    Harry,

Great news. Reproduced. We will see what we can do moving forward now. Thanks!

Thanks for your help Josh, I am glad that I can keep my set of PCs, as they are not causing the trouble....

                        Not really any progress

Just opened a default chart for ES and FDAX (no indicators, default session templates)

                        This is the result.

I am now asking me the question, if NT7 will ever be a usable product, as the number of untreated bugs is ever increasing. I am slowly loosing my positive attitude, as I get the impression that your developpers do not master the product. I feel sorry to say this, because I would prefer the opposite.

                          Text cannot be displaced

Restarted NinjaTrader, now FDAX data reappeared. But one obeservation relating to copy and paste of text.

Observation: I wanted to displace the word "GAP" to that place, where the gap occured. This was not possible! Would just jump away. So I only could fix the word "Gap" to the right or left side of the gap, where the FDAX data is shown, but the two gap days would not accept any text!

You have to turn Snap Mode off if you want to put a draw object where there are no bars.

For your no FDAX data chart, please provide steps to reproduce. I have never been able to create a multi-series chart with a blank panel after data has been loaded.

Please also note that 4/2 and 4/5 were holidays so the gap is expected.

Thanks for clarifying this. With snapmode turned off it works as expected.
