Switching to Chart tab in Strategy Analyzer recompute

Why is it when I run a strategy analyzer and then switch to the chart tab, NT will hang with message "Loading data" and high CPU usage (multiple instruments with a year worth of historical data test)? Is it really loading historical data again? And why the high CPU usage? Is it re-running the strategy just for the chart display? Seems like an annoying and unnecessary redundancy.

Running a backtest or such will not keep everything in memory. If at a later point in time you decide you wanted to chart it it will have to go through it again if the test was so long that portions of it had to be dumped from memory.

How about loading only a subset, not all of the backtest results on tab switch? Or keeping the most recent results in memory so that simply switching the tabs within SA does not cause the app to grind to a halt?

Unfortunately keeping results in memory will be even more adverse as you end up locking up hundreds of MBs as you keep the Strategy Analyzer open. Especially on lower end machines with not as much RAM this is extremely undesirable.
