    connected to zen...trading with custom strat

    download data at 10:25 AM

    disconnect zen

    remove custom strat

    connect MR

    crash

    open beta 10....workspace opens fine....connect MR...crash...does not even get the MR dialog open

    when you click on OK in exception dialog, NT connects to MR....of course by then you have been told '...nt needs to shut down...'

    Please send in new logs in relation to these crashes. I assume you are using the same data file as what you have already sent in. Thank you.

        This issue repeats constantly. Possibly related to workspace.

        1. open NT
        2. workspace comes up
        3. connect to MR...exception....click OK...completes connection to MR...

        only way out of this seems to be to have only a blank workspace, then connect MR, then create new charts.

        I have to recreate my workspace many times a day, so it is not due to old workspace. I only have the one simple workspace due to all crashes.

        both logs sent via email

            1. open beta 10...workspace called 'CASH' comes up
            2. connect zen
            3. trade in cash acct with custom strat....no problem
            4. an hour into session, download today's data
            5. disconnect zen
            6. connect MR...exception
            7. click OK to close exception dialog...MR completes connection...
            8. close beta 10

            9. open beta 10...CASH workspace comes up
            10. connect MR....exception
            11. click OK to close exception dialog...MR completes connection...
            12. try to close CASH workspace....does not close
            13. try again...message says can not close last open workspace...so it was closed although still on screen....these two steps after exception so probably irrelevant
            14. close beta 10 and not saving any workspace

            15. open beta 10
            16. CASH workspace is now gone...only 'untitled' default blank workspace open
            17. connect MR....no problem
            18. open CASH workspace
            19. change MT From date to today....exception
            20. close beta 10

            21. delete all Workspace folder files
            22. delete all Cache folder files
            23. delete Log file
            24. delete Trace file
            25. open beta 10
            26. in default/untitled 1 workspace, open new 20 sec NQ chart with "none" template.
            27. connect MR....no problem
            28. change from date to today
            29. change from time to 9:30 using GoTo
            30. replay chart to end of data (10:28)
            31. no problems
            32. save workspace...close nt

            33. open nt.. single chart opens (error in Log: Unable to restore custom strategy....something I wish nt would not try to do anyway...i.e. persist strats on opening nt)
            34. connect to zen
            35. download today's NQ again (mar 1)
            36. disconnect zen
            37. connect MR...no problem
            38. change from date to today and time to 930...replay to end of data fine

            at this point one would assume that the problem was a corrupt workspace....only thing there is I have re-created a dozen workspaces from scratch and get the same consistent crash.....so lets try that

            39. add custom ind to chart....GoTo 9:30:00...replay through end of data...no problem
            40. disable charttrader...add custom strat to chart....Enable....GoTo 9:30:00...replay ...strat and ind both work perfectly i.e. strat makes same profit it did in live cash acct
            41. save workspace as 'CASH'
            42. create second 20 second NQ chart....add second custom ind...
            43. GoTo 9:30:00....replay...custom strat and both custom inds work perfectly
            44. save workspace
            45. disconnect MR...connect zen
            46. both custom inds running fine....strat persists however can not be enabled (which is why I hate that it persists at all)
            47. remove strat....reload and enable same custom strat...
            48. strat places trade and flattens as expected
            49. save CASH workspace
            50. download today's NQ data again
            51. manually remove strat
            52. disconnect zen
            53. connect MR...this time no problem....possible because MT opens with From date of today's data.....
            54. change From date to 4 jan 2010 (my first day with data)....exception.
            55. close nt

            at this point you might think old data is problem, so

            56. remove all data except last week and today
            57. open nt...CASH workspace opens
            58. connect zen
            59. custom strat persisted...although error in Log says '....unable to restore strat...' this time it enables..
            60. strat places trade and flattens as expected
            61. disconnect zen
            62. manually remove strat
            63. connect MR...exception
            64. click OK in exception dialog and MR completes connection
            65. close nt and send Trace file, Log file, and workspace to Josh via email
