    Hi,
Please check my attached charts to see the cross-hair problem.
    Thanks

    R.Trader,

This is expected. When you use global crosshairs, they will show in receiving charts regardless of where your mouse is.

      Hi Josh,

      Thanks for your response.

You said that it is “to be expected”, not sure what you mean by that but perhaps you mean it is expected from a programmers point of view, however as a trader, when I move a “global” item like the global cross-hairs, I expect them to move to wherever I put them, accurately and across all of my charts.

When I move the global cross-hairs off of a chart to the price ladder, I “expect” that the movement will be followed globally so that the cross-hairs are off of all of the charts.

The way the global cross-hairs are coded now, both the top and bottom candle tails being formed on the “current bar” are extremely difficult to see, on all but one of the charts.

If the trader is using Bar charts, the global cross-hairs completely cover the current bar, making the bar currently being formed on all other charts, impossible to see, even though the cross-hairs have been moved off of the chart that has the focus.

I’ve used many charting packages through the years and NT is the only one I’ve used where the global cross-hairs remain on and covering the current bar after the global cross-hair cursor is moved off of the chart.
( to the price ladder for example.)

When I move the global cross-hairs completely off of the price bars to the price ladder or to the bottom or top of the chart, I believe it would be appropriate for the global cross-hairs to be at the price ladder or top or bottom of all of the other charts as well.

If you wish to keep the NT cross-hairs coded the way they are currently, I can work around it but I do believe it should be corrected.

      Thank you for your consideration.

        R.Trader,

This is how global crosshairs has worked since NT6. It is expected behavior. Thank you for the suggestion though. I have added it to the feedback list.

For the moment, the easiest way I've found to keep the global cross-hairs enabled but have them off of all the charts, is just to go to my longest time frame, then move the cursor with the global cross-hairs to the bottom left of that chart.

That way all of the cross-hairs are hidden but available and come back on all of the charts with just a little mouse movement.

Cross hair with left mouse click

I don't know if it is possible with ninja or but it is in Trade station, don't miss understanding, I like Ninja better but regarding Cross Hair .
just keep pointer all the time and when you click left mouse on the chart it should give you H/L/Volume for this bar in a data box and turn from pointer to cross hair as long as you hold the left mouse key then if you let it go it is turn again to pointer.

              Thanks
              Mike

                Hi Mike,

                Thank you for your reply.

This is not currently available, but I will forward this suggestion on to my development team for further consideration.

In the meantime, you can access the mini-data box by middle mouse clicking on a bar.

This will not, however, result in your pointer being changed to a cross hair. You would need to make this change to your pointer manually.

                  Mike,

If you are talking about the top left of the chart, it's not an indicator,
                  it's just a clock.

You can download it at Cnet downloads.

It's called "Timeleft" and it is a very good program.

They have both a free and deluxe version.
The deluxe will cost you @ $25.00.

Otherwise, there are no indicators on my charts, I don't use them.

                  Hope that helps.

                    Global cross hairs

                    R.Trader

I understand your frustration with the global cross hairs - it's a shame but I find it is just not usable because of the problems you outlined.
I found myself constantly 'forgetting' that I was on the higher time frame and wham the lower time frame chart goes wacko.

What would be nice (hint NT) would be to have a grouped cross hair - like linked charts - then you could select/deselect which charts have a 'global' cross hair.

                      MS,

I am certainly glad they finally give us the option in Chart Properties ( Window section ), to switch the "Global cross hair time axis scrolling", to False.

That does help but here is a chart showing what would really improve the ability to see easily, which chart has the focus for the crosshairs, if they will do it.

That is at least a better way.

I assume it would be configurable?

I hope NT Support will make changes such as this or at least give us access to a way to programmically change the cursor.
