problem with loading historical data with zen-fire
This happens every time. I pull up NT 7 beta 10(now), then I choose to connect to zenfire, 99.9% of the time I see no activity on the chart during market hours, I choose reload historical data, and the server connection get's lost it shows on nt control panel, ALL my apps get kicked off line on 2 seperate machines. My connection has been the same for over 5 years. This only started happening in NT 7 beta. You keep telling me it's my network, or on my end, but I can assure you that it is not. I'm trying to give you more info on it. I have to quit NT7 many times, sometimes kill process and eventually it will connect and get the historical data, and the chart shows the proper activity. Again, this happens only when I load up, and "upon seeing no activity on the chart" I choose "Reload Historical Data" then the errors happen. See attached.Last edited by funk101; 02-24-2010, 01:39 PM.Tags: None

what I just tried was quit all charts and save. Quit NT with NO charts active, nothing but control panel. Restart NT7 -> connect to zenfire -> pull up chart and it was able to load data, and show activity immediately. I'll check it out again when I pull it down later in week. There's something going on with that whole process, loading up zenfire and retrieving historical data. I have NO indicators on my chart, just n minute candlestick.

funk101,
All I can suggest is to please try on a different ISP. The fact that you are getting knocked out on two machines is indicative of network failure on your whole network. Furthermore, the fact that you are getting knocked off everything and not just NT, it is something going on with your internet connection.
I don't know why your ISP/router/etc. may be dropping your connections, but please try a different internet connection. Unfortunately I am out of other ideas.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service

I know it must be frustrating to keep hearing this from me as it is just as frustrating when you tell me it's my network when my system has not changed in years. The *exact* same setup running early NT pre 6 to NT 6.x, etc. Same ISP, same account with AMP/Zen-Fire. I've never had this problem. So, I'm really gonna try and pin point the issue somehow

funk101,
Unfortunately there is nothing more I can suggest for you. Just because you haven't changed your ISP for years does not mean you may not have issues now. Could be faulty wiring, could be ISP fault, could be routers fault. We would not know. The fact that you drop internet across your whole network means it is something wrong with your network.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service
