Replay Historical Data Implicit Download Feature

This was unexpected, but nice.

Here's what I did:

1. Created a 10-Min chart of $GPBJPY with Gain datafeed connected
2. Disconnected from Gain datafeed
2. Connected to Market Replay
3. Entered start date of 10/1/2007 and end date of 10/1/2008

Here's what I noticed:

1. Before any of this there were no data files for 2007 in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\NTUser\My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db\minute\$GBPJPY

2. After doing the above, I have the following data files in that folder:

20070924.Last.ntd
20070925.Last.ntd
20070926.Last.ntd
20070927.Last.ntd
20070928.Last.ntd
20071001.Last.ntd
20071002.Last.ntd

I'd never tried this before, and I guess it must be a new feature because in 6.5, NinjaTrader wouldn't have let me select a date for which data had not already been stored.

It just seemed a little strange because no datafeed was connected other than the "Replay" connection.

My account connection definition for Gain says to get historical data from the NinjaTrader servers, so I'm guessing this means that this data is being downloaded by "Replay" and this can be done without a connection being established other than "Replay".

When I clicked on the "Play" button on the replay slider, it showed gradually increasing times and dates, but no additional new data was loaded.

Is this normal behavior?
