Invalid Symbol on loading chart

Hello,

Loading a chart with minute data is fine. When I try to load 50 days of day data for 6A 03-10 I get

Error on loading chart data for '6A 03-9 Globex'. E,Invalid symbol.,


Various numbers of days give the same error.

I'm using NT7B9 and IQFeed 4.7.0.9

This is a limitation of the IQFeed which would report this error on expired symbols.

Thanks, I kind of guessed that was what the error means.

However, IQFeed keep a lot more than 50 days day data. That symbol isn't expired for minute data either.

Do I need to ask them?

03-09 expiries expired ~1 year ago. Please contact IQFeed support for details.

One last question though. Why would NT request a year old contract when I request 50 days of data?

I just loaded a 1 min and 1 day chart for 6A 03-10, 50 days back, all default on an empty DB and no request for the 03-09 expiry was triggered.

What are you doing differently?

I'm not sure. I open NT and it's the first thing I do. I did the day request first, and got the error. Could something have gone wrong in my continuous contract processing?

IQFeed are saying this is a bug in Ninja (accessing expired contracts data) so I thought I'd update this thread

They said:

Hello Dave, unfortunately this is an bug within NinjaTrader's software. We
do currently have the expired contract data for Sept 09, but for some reason
NT is not able to access these contracts for expired months. I have included
NT Support on this email to help you further. I know that they are working
on an update to do so but I am not sure if it is available as of yet.

Please attempt to test this on the next Beta release of NinjaTrader 7 and let me know if you are able to reproduce this issue.
