This is known problem with potentially any virus scanner. I have not seen it yet with MS own virus scanner which is free and called "Microsoft security essentials".

Thanks for your continued cooperation. Your traces suggest very clearly that ANOTHER process than NT would access the relevant files.
        >> 2010-02-12 07:04:55:825 There is a file sharing violation. A different process might be using the file. [ C:\Users\Ztrade\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db\NinjaTrader.sdf ]

I suggest taking steps to isolate what process that could be like:
        - rebooting your machine
        - make sure you ONLY have NT7 running as you test
        - anything else which would come to your mind to prevent ANOTHER process accessing directories owned by NT

How would I isolate the problem?

Would saving an image of a chart cause this? that is the only thing I am doing, running nothing else by NT on the system.

But I've saved several chart images without the crash. THis time I had not done anthing in several minutes then it crashed 1 min after turning off McAfee.

How would I isolate the problem? I'm not that great a IT guy. I do not even know where it start TW: it was not happening until the latest versions of Beta.

Creating chart images would not cause the issue nor has it anything to do with this particular beta. Did you perform steps below yet?

              Done what you said, exactly

So, right now only NT7b9 is running. Nothing else. What else would know about this .sdf file?

The SDF file is NT DB file. Is it still crashing with the error message below although you have McAfee turned off?

                  Processes running

I had to run the snipping tool to get this.

                      Please:
                      - turn off McAfee
                      - inspect task manager, as you did, so you see if there really is NO MsAfee process running. In your image below it is STILL running. Worst case kill any McAfee related process or uninstall McAfee temporarily.

In case you get another crash: please attach logs and traces again.

                        Done

It was running because it crashed when it was off. But I did like you said - I removed the .sfd file, rebooted, made sure McAfee was off and restarted NT7.

Let's see how long it stays runing. I will not touch that computer not even draw a trend line or save a chart.

I even stoped mcafee.exe by hand

I even stoped mcafee.exe by hand. So nothing else is showing in the task manager. I will let you know what happens.

Not sure why you removed the SDF file. I have not asked you so. Anyway: since you now removed this file your historical trade data and your ATM templates are gone.

Since I'm working with you at this time, I suggest taking only the steps I suggested.

Please report back your findings after you have left NT running for a while. Thanks
