Using reverse button creates two problems for simple ATM strategy

While using Chart Trader along with a simple ATM strategy (8 tick stop & reverse at stop checked) on simulated data everything works fine as long as I only move the stop line, but often if I click the REVERSE button on the DOM, it will either cause my auto stop to drop out OR an error message will come up.

Can you please clarify what error message is received?

What is your exact setup? Multiple ATM strategies running? Same one on Chart Trader as in DOM?

I think I was getting an error message because I chose an ATM stategy that I call "Stop & Reverse" in the DOM, but only <None> in Chart Trader.

I deleted the DOM and in Chart Trader I chose ATM Strategy "Stop & Reverse". No error message anymore, but it still occasionally drops my stop.

This ATM strategy is very simple. 8 ticks stop loss and Rev at stop is checked.

Again, the problem is, if I decide to simulate an early exit before price hits the stop by clicking on the REVERSE button, Chart Trader will sometimes lose the auto 8 tick stop. Please try this using simulated ES 03-10 with 500 volume bars. It will only take you a few minutes to see it happen.

Please describe what you mean by "drops the stop". For sure when you press the Reverse button it will cancel the stop.

If I manually press the REV button or let price touch the stop, it will close/cancel that stop order, reverse the position, open a new stop order in the new direction. This works as expected.

Thats exactly how it works most of the time, however, SOMETIMES when I MANUALLY press the REV button, the position gets reversed, but it no longer has a stop.

If you try it out, move your stop first before pressing the reverse button and you'll eventually see it happen.

Already tried a few times earlier today, just tried reversing 20 times in a row and it was successful each time.

Did you move the stop up or down from its original position in Chart Trader before pressing Reverse or just press Reverse 20 times? I'm fairly sure it only happens after moving the stop, but I'll check on that again.

I pressed REV without doing anything, then with moving the stop up, and then with moving the stop down. All worked okay on my end.
