Is there any reason we shouldn't be able to move the chart canvas freely in both directions by just clicking and dragging? Maybe even make it a configuration option.

Vertical Scrolling
Horizontal scrolling and horizontal/vertical scaling in NT7 works fine - but it seems awfully clunky to have to mouse over the Y-axis and Ctrl-Drag to scroll vertically.
Is there any reason we shouldn't be able to move the chart canvas freely in both directions by just clicking and dragging? Maybe even make it a configuration option.Tags: None

How about press spacebar - have pointer/crosshair turn into a hand, then be able the move chart up/down/right/left. that would be simple and efficient.

How about this behavior.
mousewheel or up/down arrow keys:
to offset the chart up or down (adjust fixed scaling offset)
ctrl-mousewheel or ctrl-up/ctrl-down arrow keys:
to adjust fixed scale magnitude
mousedrag or left/right arrow keys:
to offset the chart right or left (move back and forth in time)
Then offsetting convenient accomplish and rescaling would be almost as convenient.
Manually offsetting the fixed scale would of course get bashed during real-time if they implement automated up/down offsetting of fixed charts that keep recent prices visible on the screen with a little margin.
Unless of course the user has an option to disable/enable the auto offset.
Or maybe better yet:
Allow the user to configure which functions are mapped to up/down/right/left, mousewheel, ctrl-mousewheel,... . However, this "better yet" suggestion quickly becomes a future feature request since it is not just a tweak of the current code while refining toward a release.

Ray: That's bugged me too.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Ray View PostThanks for the suggestion. Initially, I did not want this since that exact feature in eSignal always frustrated me since I would accidentaly change my chart.
How about adding "Undo/Redo Chart Modifications" to your list of future enhancement requests?
