Auto connection

I use Ib and have auto connection checked but it doesn't open the TWS when I open NT7.
If I have the TWS already up and running it will however connect without me having to manually do it.

MindSet,

1. NT does not handle the IB Security device.

2. Multiple open TWS are not handled.

Using NTMT utilities you can write a logon script that will connect correctly to IB, because NTMT utilities will load and login to TWS indipendently and only at a second stage trigger NT connection to TWS.

You can also trigger connect to TWS from your mobile phone (including challenge/response from security device)

Thanks Zweistein I understood that - I did however assume that it would open TWS populate username and password and get me to that stage however.

NT will also close TWS when it closes (either normalor by crash).

I prefer to load TWS indipendently, so it will survive any NT problems (allthough NT7 seems very reliable, much improved respect to NT65).

I just tried exactly that and NT started up TWS on startup and connected nicely. I have AutoLogon an EnablePopupHandling checked. What are you doing differently?

Yes I have both of those settings.
The TWS opens but the username and password are waiting for user input.

Hmm .. works no problem here. If NT would start TWS as you went File->Connect->IB, then I would not know why it would not work as you started NT itself.

well if I do file connect then it works fine - I shall try adding a new connection and just see if it's a quirky connection setting.
