this is why I posted the suggestion to release betas faster....to waste less of your time and mine....the longer the delay, the more time wasted

tried to close beta 7 three times with sampleMAcrossover running

when click yes to save workspace, threw exception all 3 times

so far, not so good

i closed with sampleMAstrat loaded but disabled

on open of 7, workspace was not loaded....loaded it and strat did not persist

next time tried to close connected to zen with strat enabled....crash

1. yes I can enable/disable then disconnect zen...then reconnect zen and enable

2. no I can not close 7 with strat enabled and on zen....crash whether save workspace or not

3. no I can not close 7 connected to zen with strat disabled without it being removed... thank you...that is what I was after...no wonder you did not see the problem I was having

4. yes if you disconnect zen enabled the strat is automatically disabled....then removed on close....excellent

still works exactly the same as in my last post....which is fine...i.e. strats always removed switching feeds but not reconnecting same feed

I do not like the fact that strats persist on 7 startup...although an improvement is that if you try to enable, they remove....much better as you can not make the mistake of thinking strat is actually in chart

Not sure what you mean. Switching feeds does NOT remove strategies. Suggest you check your filters for the strategy tab.

Strategy persistence on startup has been a highly demanded feature. Many people do not want to keep adding their strategies every time they start up NinjaTrader and we have moved to accommodate this in NT7.

Correct. When you switch to MR you no longer have the Sim101 account so therefore you cannot start it. Starting strategies will not change the account a strategy is running on. MR only has one account, Replay101, which you most likely do not have your strategy running on.

As stated, it is account dependent. Going from MR to Zen, your strategy is set to run on Replay101. Zen does not have Replay101 so you will not be able to start it. Vice versa is the case from Zen to MR. Zen would use either real-time Zen account or Sim101. MR only has Replay101 = no enabling of strategy.

Strategies are never removed from the strategies tab unless manually done so. This has been one of the highest demanded for feature by many many people and the feature will not change. If you don't want to see it, either remove it yourself or use the Filter by Account and filter out what you don't want to see.

we are talking about two different things:

1. yes I agree reconnecting to same acct strat should persist and be able to re-enable. I also want this and can understand why everyone would

2. what we do not agree on is there is no reason for 7 code not to be changed to remove strats when switching feeds and closing NT(can enable to same feed on NT startup)...because (as you explained and I understood a long time ago) the account changes and you can not enable. I doubt anyone would not want this change...as they can not enable it anyway

2 is my whole point from the start of this thread....

anyway ...have beaten this dead horse long enough ...if NT does not want to, then fine. I will just manually remove which I assume everyone else does
