strats should be removed on close of 7 or change of data feed

AGAIN: 7 should remove strats when 7 is closed, or feed is changed, because you can not Enable them anyway...so why let them persist....can cause confusion thinking you have the strat in already and is a real pain to have to keep removing manually

When you change feeds you can enable the strategies. Not sure why you feel differently.

1. Connect Zen
2. Strategies tab, add SampleMACrossOver as enabled
3. Disconnect Zen
4. Connect Simulated Data Feed
5. Strategies tab, enable SampleMACrossOver --> comes back online and changes the connection of the strategy to Simulated Data Feed instead of Zen.

8. disconnect zen after loading and running my strat
9. connect MR

At this point, I was able to successfully re-enable the strategy by checking the box for the strategy in the strategy tab. The only additional step I took that you didn't list was to enable the strategy after adding it in step 2.

Is there anything else you could be doing differently?

nothing different than listed

tested your idea re 2. and same problem...i.e. enable before closing 7....open 7 and strat persists...can not enable

this has been going on since the first NT7 beta and has been driving me and my subscribers nuts as I keep telling them that on starting 7 or switching feeds they must remove any strats that persist and start with new strat load

there must be an exception being thrown by your strat. Look into the Log and Output window...

It can be reenabled. It just something wrong with this particular strat code.

I had the same yesterday with NullRef exception I ****ed up

Log error is:

'Your chart references a session template that no longer exists. NT will use the session template defined for this instrument'

This does not sound like my code but rather an incorrect chart setting?

now I know why I did not see error in Log before....NT7 does not give any message, it just does not enable...I was running in 6.5 when I got the Log error

I just tested SampleAtmStrategy

connected to zen...then load and enabled ...then closed 7

opened 7....strat persists....can not enable (not connected)...connect replay...strat removed

same above only connect zen....can not enable before or after connect zen...still persists tho

Was unable to reproduce on my end.

1. Zen
2. Strategies tab, add SampleAtmStrategy on ES 03-10
3. Enable
4. Disconnect Zen
5. Reconnect Zen
6. Press Enable --> strategy reenables.

What error does 6.5 run into that does not show in 7? Please provide full text. Thank you.

Mine works fine that way also

I am not talking about connecting to the same feed

I mean:

1. closing NT7 ...strat persists and will not enable after connect to same feed....it should not persist in this instance

2. switching feeds it will persist and not enable....same thing it should not persist if you can not enable it

It doesn't matter which real-time feed you use. It will work.

1. Zen
2. Start strategy
3. Disconnect, connect Simulated Feed
4. Start strategy = works

Market Replay is completely different. Market Replay does not have a Sim101 account so you cannot start your strategy again.
