NinjaTrader 7 won't open

    NinjaTrader 7 won't open

    I've used Ninjatrader 7 beta before, but after a brief break, the program will no longer open. Running NT7 gives me the splash screen, IQfeed starts up, and I can see it running in the task manager, but there are no open NT 7 windows. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix the problem

    In case it matters, I'm on Windows 7 64-bit and running the 32-bit version of NT7 beta.

    Any ideas?

    Could you be on a multi-monitor setup? Perhaps the windows are coming up on a separate monitor?

    For a clean reinstall you will need to delete Documents\NinjaTrader 7. That should restore everything back to default.

      Hey Josh. I do have 2 monitors, but that shouldn't affect it because the windows aren't showing up on either monitor.

      So I uninstalled and deleted the NT 7 folder, then reinstalled (not importing anything from NT 6.5) and it worked at first. Then NT 7 crashed and the next time I tried to open it, it went back to the original problem. I obviously can't keep uninstalling and reinstalling every time I want to use NT. What do you think is causing it and how can I fix it?

        Please attach your log and trace files along with as much information as possible to describe what was installed into NT after you reinstalled it and what you were doing when NT crashed. Also, did you migrate from NT6.5?

          Here are my log and trace files and a quick step by step of what happened before the problem
          - Uninstalled NT 7
          - Deleted NT 7 folder
          - Reinstalled NT 7 beta 6 (did not import from NT 6.5)
          - Set up data connections (Mirus-autoconnect, IQFeed-autoconnect, Yahoo)
          - Instrument manager - created a continuous contract futures list
          - New chart - ES 2 min
          - New static DOM, adjusted default settings
          - Added some moving averages to the chart
          - changed time frames on the chart to see how continuous futures contracts work on NT 7
          - CRASH
          - reopened. Splash shows up, an error message from IQFeed pops up, program is in the task manager, but no windows are visible

            What version of IQFeed do you have installed?

              IQ Feed v. 4.6.1.0

              I remember reading something about IQ Feed having different versions for NT 6.5 and NT 7 but being able to use NT 6.5 is more important to me than testing NT 7. Is it possible to have both?

                Please update to the version at this link: http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ad.php?t=21024

                You can use this version for both 6.5 and 7.

                    Oh and I recommend that someone change the notification on the website so it's clear that 4.7.0.5 is compatible with NT 6.5 (aside from the "have use" grammar issue). Here's how it reads now

                    NinjaTrader 6.5 Users - You must have use version 4.3.0.3 IQFeed Client sofware - Download
                    NinjaTrader 7 Beta Users - You must have use version 4.7.0.5 IQFeed Client sofware - Download
