Odd line shows up when changing chart period...

When changing from a 6 second chart to a 1 second chart an odd green line appears as shown in the left screen shot below. Then when changing from 1 second to 11 ticks the green line becomes a vertical line with tick marks...screen shot in center below...have often seen this changing periods around the open....equadistant set to false....zoom in on green line screen shot on right below...

    Alfred,

    Could this be...

    - A drawing object? Is it selectable? If not, does it show up as removable in the "Remove Drawing Objects" dialog?

    - A data point spike from bars? Can you double click on it --> Does it bring up Format Data Series (Chart Properties "Allow the selection of drag/drop..." must be enabled

    - Drawn by an indicator? Remove all indicators from chart --> Does object disappear?

    Thanks

      Ray...

Clicking on the green line in a seconds chart highlights the whole chart.
      It is not specifically selectable...

It is not a drawing object...I only had 1 small Andrews pitchfork elsewhere on the chart.
Removing all drawing objects did not change it. Charts were bare of all objects at startup.

Double clicking on it in both a seconds and a tick chart does bring up the data series window.

Removed the 1 indicator (a 1 period MA)...made no difference.

I have seen this happen a number of times and just finally got around to mentioning it today. I seems to be associated with changing periods just before the open...or maybe just after the open...note that the line appeared as a solid green line when going from 6 seconds to 1 second...then when going to 11 ticks from 1 second the lime becomes more complex, with tick marks on it, as in the zoomed screen shot.

I do not think it has to do with a spike in data...as have seen this exact same thing before happen as described.
I have had the 1% filter bad ticks turned on in Options > Data...

Will mess around with this Monday morning to see what happens...see if can duplicate and how...

      Thanks...

          Ray...

Same thing happened this morning...workspace and charts looked OK live upon opening...then when changing from a 6 second chart to 1 second shortly after the open, the odd green line shows up at the open. Then when going on to a 22 or 11 tick chart the green line changes to a vertical line with tick marks on it. All other charts where have not changed period or type still look OK...no green line ...there was no bad data spikes showing on the open on all other charts...the odd line only on charts where a period or type change was made...

If you make a period change shortly before the open the odd lines will appear to the left of the open I believe....need to try this tomorrow.

Screen shots show a normal typical chart before period change, green line after period change on seconds chart, and tic mark line upon going to tick chart...

          Thanks...

            Additional note...

            Ray...

After green line appears on seconds charts...then a new chart will load with the green line also...but after a Repair DB, no green line now on new charts loaded...and green line and tic line goes away on existing charts. Now 7:10am Pacific...no green line now appears when changing period.
Seems to be associated with a change close to the open.

            Thanks...

Hmm Alfred. Unfortunately I was unable to reproduce. I tried on both equidistant and non-equidistant charts. Are you still able to reproduce since your DB repair?

Josh...will see what happens tomorrow morning...I believe you must try within around 5 or 10 minutes or so either side of the open to get this to work...have seen a number of times (maybe 8/10 +/-) off and on...

But will see what happens tomorrow...thanks..

Development has provided some clarification needs. Can you please fill us in to the answers for these? Thank you.

-What timezone is your computer using?
-From data connection feed is the data?
-Does this happen only when connected, or did this also happen when not connected?
-On which instrument did this happen ? Does that happen for more than one instrument?
-With which session template does this happen on. If not one of the default sessions, can you please provide a screenshot of session definition for 1 instrument where this happens.
-Does that happen in-session/before session/after session. Or some other scenario?

maybe 5/10 minutes either side...might be wrong here...does not work later in the day (I believe)...today going from a 6 second chart to 1 or 2 second chart got me the green line...then going from the 2 second chart to an 11 or 22 tick chart got the vertical line with the tick marks on it.

Current custom session screen shots below..(the one that was running today)...but have had others running previously when this occured...

                    Thanks...

                      Can Reproduce...

Odd green line reproduced this morning when checked for 15 minutes after open. Created a new seconds chart with instrument settings, equidistant false...green line showed up to left of open. (left screen shot below) Changing the seconds chart to a tick chart the green line changes to the vertical line with tick marks. (right screen shot below)

                      Thanks...

Update 6:55 pacific...changing period on any existing seconds chart now that was OK at open...green line now shows all charts same location...

                        Alfred,

Thanks. I think I got it to reproduce. Will look into it.

Josh...Repair DB will eliminate green lines for the rest of the day.
Yes today, was live and shortly after open creating a new chart showed green line or when changing an existing seconds chart period, green line appeared...

                          thanks...

                            Hi Alfred !

Building a spike when switching bar definition after chart bars were running into a new session is a bug which is fixed now. The fix will be available with the next update of NinjaTrader.

                            Many thanks for reporting !

                            Kind regards,
                            Christian
