rejected order window (not enough margin) locked program, had to use task manager to kill NT

    To clarify:
    - you had been connected to ZenFire
    - you placed on order on your ZenFire account
    - you got the message below and NT locked up

Is that correct? Is this reproducible?

That is correct, reproducible - yes, just tested it.

Curious: Would it be feasible that you allowed me to place that exact order on your account? I needed to run through a debug scenario on my machine to locate the source of trouble.

If you would be fine then please mail me to "dierk AT ninjatrader DOT com":
        - your ZenFire account credentials
        - detailed info on the order you places
        - which exact account this was (in case your connection would have more than one account)

Of course I would understand if you would not want to grant me access to your account...

        Thanks in advance

I'd rather not. Is there no other way?

Understood. I'm afraid, I'm not aware of any other way.

What is the exact (!) error message you get? Screen shot?

              @NinjaTeam:

I hope very much that you check your NT software for cases like this "insufficient margin" scenario message.

NT should -once released- never lock in such a situation.

The trader is usually already stressed when something goes wrong with an order. NT lockup as a second stress test is an absolute nogo.

              Happy debugging.

              Andreas

P.S. You can use your own Zenfire account and just trade a ridiculous high number of lots to generate such a message. I would appreciate if you could also check with IB and PATS.

A similar case is that the order goes through but your account runs out of margin at a later moment. This triggers usually a phone call from your broker, but broker api messages could also happen.

Thanks for your valuable comments. It's our understanding, that NT should never lock up.

I just placed a couple of high lot orders on our own account. They got rejected with exact message below. NT did not lock but up was working normally.

Just tried again using different symbol on different exchange, same result. Could you and would it be helpful to connect to my computer and check it out?

Unfortunately this would not help as we would not have any means to debug the scenario.

When i get the popup, task manager shows NT running normally (does not say "program not responding) normal cpu and memory. It's like the popup puts the program on hold or something, and you can't click "ok" in the popup window. after i kill it task manager and before it gets shutdown, data will start update charts.
it seems alot like 6.5 new version popup, where if you don't select ok on it right away, you get stuck.

Thanks. However, only debugging would allow us to resolve the issue.

Hmm, tried again just now, seems fine, behaved as it should.
