Loading historical data

I have been intermittantly encountering loading historical data issues when I open a new chart.

I can close the chart and reopen it and it works fine.

Not sure what process is locking the file.

Any ideas?

Connection to NinjaTrader historical market data server lost: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\Gary\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db\tick\NG 02-10\201001111000.Last.ntd' because it is being used by another process.

Could be your virus scanner has a temp lock on a file NT is trying to access. You could try setting your Virus Scanner to not scan the NT folder:

C:\Users\Gary\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\

See if that makes a difference.

I am using avast and have already excluded the NT7 and NT 6.5 directories.

Not really a show stopper, I just want to make sure there is not another issue that I need to deal with.

Never had this same issue with NT6.5.

I'm not sure how exactly Avast is structured, but for some you need to exclude folders specifically for AntiVirus, FileLock / Protection modules of the package you run - is there perhaps a Global setting you could set to doublecheck? Thanks

I have the top level folder "excluded" which should include all subdirectories.

I will go ahead exclude the db directory as well. I will also look at the documentation and make sure this is the correct way to implement.

What is curious is that I never had this issue with NT6.5.
