    OnMarketData Indicator starts

    Hi,

There seems to be an issue with indicators that use OMD where they fail to start unless the chart that has the indicator is brought into focus by selecting it.

    To reproduce;

    1. Write simple OMD indicator (I used the sample in the help file that prints Bid/Ask to Output window)
    2. Place indicator on a new chart in a workspace that has multiple charts
    3. Ensure that this chart is not "on top" then close NT saving workspace
    4. Restart NT, connect to datafeed and wait for a couple of minutes (only necessary so can be sure that charts have updated with new incoming data)
    5. Then select chart that has OMD indicator - will find that while chart has updated with incoming data OMD has failed to start processing this. Selecting the chart 'starts' OMD.

In 6.5 OMD would start irrespective of where the chart was in the chart list.

I am using an eSignal feed with NT configured to connect on startup. NT is b6.

Sorry I could not reproduce. Here is what I tried:
    - Open chart 1 min ES, 24/7 session, all default, add attached indicator
    - Open chart 1 min NQ, 24/7 session, all default
    - open output window
    - connect sim feed
    - make sure ES chart is "underneath" the NQ chart and shut down NT
    - restart NT

-> output window is populated with messages no problem

Please try to reproduce above and let me if it works. We then will take it from there. Thanks

      Dierk,

I will run your script - then get back to you (likely will be in the new year).

      Thanks

          Dierk,

Follow up - was the output window populated immediately after data connection (live feed?) or after the chart in question was brought into focus?

Happy New Year to you too....

            >> Follow up - was the output window populated immediately after data connection
Correct. Chart still was "in background".

              Hi Dierk,

              Finally got back to this...

              1. Loaded your indicator on to a 15 min ES chart - it printed to Output Window OK..
              2. Had another indicator which also uses OMD on another chart - it was working OK
              3. Restarted NT - my custom indicator was in focus, chart with yours wasnt
              4. When market reopened - my indicator started processing OMD data - yours didnt
              5. The moment I selected the 15 min chart your indicator started
              6. If charts had have been reversed situation would have reversed (ie yours would start - mine wouldnt)
              7. NT is b6 - have 2 workspaces 1 with 2 charts - this stays in background most of time the other active 1 varies between 10 and 20 charts.

              Over to you?

Thanks for the details. I was able to isolate a bug which will be fixed with next update.
