unable to change equidistant bar spacing to true
I am running ninja 7.0.0.6 If I add to my chart two time frames, lets say 5R and 10R, and I go to chart properties, it will not let me change settings to true for equidistant bar spacing. Is there another place where you set these or is this value forced to false for this rev.Tags: None

Hi Josh,
Let me give you an example of why this multichart setup in its current form is totally useless. In this slow market load up YM 03-10 for instance using 5 range. to this chart add YM with 5 min candles. If market does not move much, YM will not have that many candles in range bar side thus skewing totally the way the chart looks with respect to 5 min. Trying a 1min with 30 min, looks even worse. So in cases like these, equidistant spacing is absolutely necessary.

In a chart, you either have the bars evenly spaced from each other (time is then uneven) or you have the reverse where time is ever and the bars are not. With a single series chart, you can choose either, by default we have evenly spaced bars. If you mix a 5 range chart (where you will get uneven intervals of closing bar times) with a 5 minute chart, the only way to have the bars correctly position in relation to each other is based on time thus you have to have non-equidisant spacing. If you want both series to be equally spaced then you have to have two separate x-axis for time thus you can just open two charts.Originally posted by AlexJetski View PostHi Josh,

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the reply. I see your point. That is what I currently have two separate windows with the different time frames from NT6.5. imho It would have been nice to combine both windows into one with two separate time x-axis and perhaps a localized version of global cross hairs to point from one chart frame to another and also a button to hide one time frame when not needed. Not sure if something like this was ever considered or will be implemented in the final release. Juggling a few windows with the same instrument with different time frames is a mess at times.

AlexJetski,
What is currently available is not two time axis on a chart, but what you can do if you have multiple time frames on the chart is to maximize certain panels and switch between the panels. You can do this by right clicking in the y-axis and selecting Maximize.
Merry Christmas to you too.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Josh, It would be great if there was a shortcut for that.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Josh View PostAlexJetski,
