    Session Manager

    Hello,
Is there any instructions on how to use the session manager?
Like how to import from excel rather than export.
Like what is the Grid Properties supposed to do?
I unchecked the start and end day but no effect on the outcome.
How can I set specific time periods that would repeat everyday instead of specifying a particular day.
I also noticed I can't define any dates, Can you please make a suggestion to your programmers to include date limitations as well so we can filter out certain periods if we choose to.
    Thanks.

    yellowTrader,

    You cannot import from Excel.

Grid Properties are generic properties wherever you see a grid in NT. They offer basic operational functionality which may or may not be of much value here in the Session Manager.

Filtering out start/end times will not do much as that is not what the Session Manager is for. You define out definitions for your sessions in the manager. Then you choose the session template to apply to your charts.

There is no filtering of dates because session templates are applied to all dates on your chart. If you need date filtering you can do so in your code for any indicators or strategies that need such filtering.

Hopefully that helps. Help Guide articles on how to use the Session Manager will be available in the future.

      Josh,
      Thank you for your reply.
Regarding data filtering , What I need to do is to filter out raw data for certain periods so they won't be visible on the chart. e.g. If the chart data is from Jan/1/2007 to Jan/1/2010 how can I filter out data for Jun/3/2008 to Feb/10/2009 so that only the periods left before and after this period would be visible on my chart?

          Josh,
How can I filter out the part of the price data so it doesn't show up on the chart? Like I explained in post 121 below?
Can an indicator be constructed to do this task?

yellowTrader, it might be possible to construct an indicator to do that, but couldn't you just delete the data you don't want while running backtests or whatever you're trying to do?

To clarify, if you don't even want to see the data at all on the chart, the only way to do that is to delete it from your Historical Data Manager. You can't visually suppress certain bars from NinjaScript. All you can do is tell it to skip over that bar in processing indicators or strategies from code, but it will still be charted.
