3 seconds delay between data from TWS and NT7

    Hello,

I have found big problem in data synchronization in NT7B5.
I have Interactivebroker (IB) and on-line tick data subscribed.
I am connected to IB, recieving data, but there is 3 seconds delay in NT. It causes different look of price bars in TWS (IB aplication) and NT7 chart.

    - Both application (TWS and NT7) are on the same computer (Quad Core, RAM more than needed etc.)

    - I have done all performace tips for NT (no indicators, Calculate on bar close to "True", Historical data recorder to off, etc..)

When I "Reload all historical data" then bars are synchronized ok, but all new bars are 3sec delayed again.

Would you pls help me with this issue?

    Regards

    Pavel

    Pavel,

I was unable to reproduce on my end. Can you please try your account on NT6.5 to see the behavior there?

I tried compare charts in NT6.5 and below mentioned issue is there too. Time difference between TWS and NT6.5 is about 4 seconds now.

      Do you have any suggestion?

        Pavel,

Please try syncing your PC clock and trying again.

          Josh,

thank you for your help. It works now.
Sync of PC clock resolved the issue.

          Note:
Maybe some time check (between Internet and PC clock) in NT or chart syncing with Internert instead of PC should help to other traders to have correct data.

Trying to timestamp off of the internet will introduce unnecessary delays from latency. If the data provider doesn't stamp them, the only reliable time stamp source would be the local PC clock.

you might set clock sync to auto and see if problem occurs again

I note that it does not sync often enough, you can not set the interval when it syncs and sometimes sync fails....other than that it is great?

anyone else have a better source/method for auto sync?

I've been using this on XP machine... Turned my Windows sync off, as this works a lot better.

On my dual CPU machine, every time I load TWS, it gains about 5 sec.. I now load TWS and get it running, then sync time manually and exit D4, then connect NT.

(have it to auto do it on machine startup also, but don't want the overhead durring the day, though it's not a lot, it all adds up)

you can change frequency of time check by the registry value change

                  How to
Configuring the Windows Time service to use an external time source:
