    jdfagan,

Renko charts are based off of tick charts. A 5 tick interval is slightly better than a 2 tick interval, but is still also very taxing. 60 days is an incredible amount of bars being loaded and having multiple charts with such high memory usage causes you to run out of memory and thus all the issues you are seeing.

Indicator serialization means your indicator was not properly coded to take serializations into account. Please go back to the original author and report the issue to them.

I will delete this install and start from scratch as my data now seems corrupted. I will also not attempt having Ninja span sleep states for my dev machine going forward.

I used SampleMaCrossover strats so your company is the author although I believe that is not the originating exception (serialization) and probably more of a side effect to the root issue.

I'll report back to this thread if I have more useful info to report back with..

I wanted to follow up with one more test to help show Ninja support staff that I don't think my use of charts (60 days of 2 tick or 60 days of 5 renko brick) is the source of issue I saw this morning.

See attachment. This is a brand new NT7B8 install I just did from scratch after my prior post. As you can see from the arrows in the attachment, there is not much memory impact having 3 charts of 60 days loaded (2 of which are 5 brick renkos, and 1 which is 2 tick).

        Cheers,

        JD

          Any update on this?

Seems like Beta 9 messed everything up.

As suggested by NT support I removed NT and reinstalled.

Now it is no better and actually worse. Just Loading Data on all screens now.
At least that is what I see when I start it and I don't get an Exception error and has to shutdown.???

David, as you reinstalled - did you remove the MyDoc > NT 7 folder as well?

I removed both folders... One in My Docs and one in Program Files. Reinstalled as instructed and still getting errors saying it NT has to shut down.

After several shutdowns. I will finally open. Once open. NONE of the workspaces will restore the data. Each chart says Loading Data...

Should I down grade to beta 6, 7, 8 until these issues are fixed?

Seems like every upgrade gets worse with this type of issues... Or is it just me?

              Thanks

Discovered another problem specific to Renko charts, so I think they are flawed. Do you have the same problem with tick or range charts?

I would love to contact you that way. However, that is another issue.
The send mail from NT7 does not work at all. I've tried all settings possible. It does not like any of them

Also, I just started it again and it tells me the historical data is corrupt. To rebuild it.
The rebuild button does not appear to do anything when pushed? What am I supposed to see happen?

I am reinstalling again. I will email from an external program as soon as I can

Thanks David, please do and direct the trace and logs to support at ninjatrader dot com Attn Bertrand, if those happen to exceed 3 megs, please zip / rar them up, thanks.

I believe you talk about the 'Reload' button in this Historical Data Manager, correct?

As alternative way, please delete historical data in it and then open a fresh chart for your instrument, then right click in chart > Reload Historical Data if needed.
