Suggestion for Metastock Import

When you have large Metastock directories, it is relatively straight forward to create a symbol list and import it into Ninjatrader. The instruments are created, but the name stays blank, as the names cannot be specified in the symbol list.

When you now import the Metastock data, the name of the instruments are accessible by the import function, but they are not used to update the name information.

My suggestion:

"Symbollists contain the symbols and the names of instruments"
or
"Instrument names are imported on Metastock Import just for the only case, that they are blank".

The suggested changes are minor, the effort to input hundreds or thousands of names manually is major.

Sorry for the confusion. The terminology was not the NinjaTrader terminology. Once again:

When you have large Metastock directories, it is relatively straight forward to create a symbol list and import it into Ninjatrader. The instruments are created, but the description stays blank, as the descriptions cannot be specified in the symbol list.

When you now import the Metastock data only price data is imported and the instrument descriptions stay blank, although you could replace the blank (and only blank) instrument descriptions by the Metastock names.

My suggestion:

"Symbollists for Import can contain the names and the descriptions of instruments"
or
"Instrument descriptions,that are blank, are replaced on Metastock Import by the Metastock names".

The suggested changes are minor, the effort to input hundreds or thousands of descriptions manually is major.
