chart templates do not persist in workspace

each morning I have to load the chart template into a one chart that was saved in a workspace with the template already there

NT 7 opens using the default template for all charts instead of the setup in the workspace

Tried on my end, my workspace was recovered with charts using the chart template I chose.

Any other information you can provide to reproduce? Please attach your workspace along with your chart templates if you can reproduce. Thank you.

consistent on my end

all I do is open NT, and charttrader is not in one of the two charts...this, I have deduced, is because my default chart does not have it in

so I add the chart template to the chart which includes charttrader...save the workspace...close and open NT...and the chart template does not persist

point being, I think, that Default chart overrides the saved ChartTemplate.....when it should be the other way around

Default does not override the applied chart template. Please create a setup using different background colors and ensure this is the case on your end as that is how it is on mine.

ok...

I had my saved workspace with the charttrader template in

changed its background to black....set default in properties....did not resave the chart template....

closed NT without saving the workspace....

at this point, in my mind, the black background should only be in the global chart default and not persist

on restart I get my chart template persisting (ie for the first time charttrader persisted) ...however now the backgrount is black

loading my template, the background goes back to original color

please explain the function of SetDefault in the Chart Properties dialog

apparently if enabled and you change an atm template prior to rewind, then strats are removed

another inconsistency is when you reset the Sim101 acct with 2 strats in chart.....Strategy tab shows they persist....Strategies dialog shows both have been removed

Let us rewind all the way back to the beginning.

1. Open a new blank chart without a template attached -> background = white
2. Right click -> Chart Properties, background = black, OK
3. Right click -> Templates -> Save As -> Name=template1
4. Close chart, open new chart (no templates), background = white
5. Close chart, open new chart (apply template1), background = black
6. Save workspace, close NT, reopen NT, chart restored with background = black
7. Close chart, open new chart (no templates), background = white
8. Right click -> Chart Properties, background = black, Set Default, OK
9. Close chart, open new chart (no templates), background = black

Setting defaults for Chart Properties is the default setting that will come up when you open a vanilla blank chart

I am not sure what you mean by your first edit.
For edit #2, I added two SampleMACrossOvers, reset Sim101, they were removed from chart and from Strategies tab as expected.

here is my latest consistent result

1. start NT
2. do not connect
3. create new chart with default
4. note default has charttrader....do not want as default so remove via properties and SaveDefault ...even save workspace
5. close chart
6. open new default chart.....it still has charttrader....drives me nuts

There have been changes that should help. Please try on next version.
