NT 7 and forex daily bars from IB

    Hi beta testers,

I just want to ask if anyone using NT 7 with IB's feed noticed wrong latest daily bars on forex symbols only....just like the known bug problem in 6.5 version (where it combines the last two daily bars)......

    thanks in advance

Yeah I came across the same thing, I have it both on my MBT and Gain connections, it looks to be the actual bar builder that is not building them correctly, reported it to Bertrand on the support email and sent them a video showing the discrepancies.

At the mo it's putting out all my ATR indicators and anything that would rely on the new Daily Data Series so am currently back to the old 1440.

So they have 'nt fix the problem in 7 version....unbelievable and unacceptable....
      1440 min. it's a work around...not a solution....you cannot see a lot off daily bars with 1440 chart.

        FOREX and IB

        NT 7.0.0.5 and NT 6.5.1000.14

There is a specific problem with the time stamp for daily bars transmitted via Interactive Brokers TWS API. This applies to markets that close late in the day, if you are located in Central or Eastern Europe.

Say your timezone is GMT +2 (Helsinki, Athens). The FOREX session closes at 10 PM GMT. TWS API converts this to your local timezone, in case of GMT +2 this will be 0:00 next day! So the daily bar gets a time stamp one day ahead. You can check this on a TWS daily chart.

Actually I made a short test. I set my (windows) timezone (not the clock, please, as TWS does not collect the time of your PC, but the timezone) to GMT +2, and I already got a daily bar for tomorrow. If you go under Toggle Crosshair (TWS), you will find that the hours shown are correct, but the date is end of session, so today's session ends at 0:00 AM tomorrow.

Now NinjaTrader cannot reconvert the date to its proper value. So all bars are shown 1 day ahead and today's bar is complete garbage as it is mixed together from yesterday's daily and today's intraday data.

To heal this NT would require a condition if (midnight < session close < user defined value - for example 3 AM) then reconvert daily data to prior date. Maybe NT developpers would consider this as a suggestion.

A workaround is just to set the timezone of your PC to GMT or further west.

For me previously on my Gain connection I had no daily bars since it didn't build them in 6.5, this has been resolved with the new bar building method. Interesting that the bug I'm now seeing in the daily regarding the merging of the last two days of the week is the same you've had on IB already.

In any case they are looking into it at the moment and I suspect it will be sorted as part of the beta process as without it, the daily charts are still not much use.

Agree the 1440 is not ideal but just using it in the interim until I hear back.

Guys, thanks for providing the reports and testing - there's a server issue on our end which we're currently looking into.
