Have the programmers put in enough guardrails to force the application to use the latest .net? Or does it randomly choose the version?
Also, does .net3.5sp1 come bundled with nt7 install? kinda like the jre with some java programs?
Also, can VS2005 still be used for debug purposes? I understand that CLR: VS2008 -> .net3.5 and vs2010 -> .net4 and VS2005 -> .net2.0 CLR. I did notice one .net2.0 clr error with NT7 in event log. This was perhaps due to VS debugger turning on clr exceptions. Not sure... just asking.
One more thing I noticed is that there are no shortcuts to .net 3.0 or 3.5sp1's configurations under control panel->performance and maintenance->administrative tools. Dont know if this is normal.
I have automatic updates on and get all MS updates.
