    Error protecting your 64-bit assembly

    Hi all

I was about to export my assembly from NT7 and I have an error message :

    "Error protecting your 64-bit assembly."

I've been exporting my indicators this way for a long time and many times with NT7 beta without any problems !

The Export compiled assembly of selected source files and the Protect compiled assembly buttons are checked.

Could you give me some hints about this problem ?

    Thanks

    Bernard

Are there any additional error messages in the Control Center Log?

In order to assist you you need to provide accurate and complete information: nowhere in our code is this EXACT error message thrown. There are a couple of similar ones, but they all would come with additional information on the root cause.

-> what EXACT and COMPLETE error message do you see?

            Dierk,

The message I am seeing appears in a window with the title protector.exe.

            The message is :
protector.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

if I click on getting more information I get the error signature :

            AppName: protector.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0. ModName: protector.exe
            ModVer: 0.0.0.0. Offset 000617aa.

Thanks. Then your protector version doe not work properly to protect 64bit assemblies. Please contact the author.

Note: Ours is dated from summer this year, any earlier version did NOT work.

I am not an expert in 32 vs 64 bit but I think I am working on a 32 bit machine and trying to export a 32 bit version not a 64 bit.

Could you help me understand this

                    Thanks

Searching for "protector" on this forum would yield this thread:

                      ... which might help you.

                        Dierk,

After reading the thread I understand more.

Do you think I should delete the x64 folder so that my problem would be solved for the time being...

                            Dierk,

Should I make a backup of that file. That folder contains a dll rscoree.dll. It will not affect my NT7 program.I do not want to create future bugs

Renaming the folder should have the same effect
