    Indicator processing order

I think the indicators on a chart are processed in the order that you select them. If you have some indicators that are dependant on others for input, say, then you have to be careful which order you add the indicators to the chart.

Is this by design that they are processed in the order selected? Is there a way to prioritize them?

I know, I know... stupid users always come up with these weird scenarios. :-)

cassb, you make me chuckle. I'll have to come over and visit sometime (10 min. away).

OK Dierk... here's another issue with how the indicators are processed on historical data. When you press F5 to refresh a chart, it will go back to bar 0 and reprocess each bar up to present.

However, the way it seems to do this is that it processes bar 0 through the end bar with the first indicator in the list. Then goes back to bar 0 and processes the next indicator in the list for each bar. Then goes back to bar 0 for the next indicator, etc.

But what I need is for it to process all of the indicators for each bar. I have indicators that 'talk' to each other for each bar, and they need to be processed in order as each bar is painted. Is this a bug, or by design? If by design, can we change it to process all indicators for each bar on historical data?

This is by design and we have no intend to change it.

cassb, I bumped up against the same situation. Best way for me to handle it was to combine multiple indicators into one. Thereby all indicators are processed on each bar instead of indicator A being processed for bars 0 through ## then indicator B being processed for bars 0 through ##. This was for NT 6.

That's a good idea, but I can't do this. I'm trying to develop a set of indicators that are separate, but 'talk' to each other via a system of external text files that I call 'the matrix.'

I guess I'll just have to tell our customers that historical data will not work with our indicators in some configurations. Bummer.
