    IB connection

I'm getting some problems connecting to IB. I have a simple workspace with 2 5 min charts going back 5 days and Market Analyzer with 4 instruments. When connecting to my broker account at IB, it seems to take a long time to complete displaying the progress messages at the bottom of the Control panel, it comes up with 3 messages: "Request Market Date is not subscribed. 354" and then 13 messages with NT has reached an IB limitation for historical data requests.....

Doesn't do this every time. First time I connected today, came up with the 3 Request market data messages then about 1 min later crashed.

    laparker,

It means you are requesting too much data at a time from IB. I suggest you remove some of the historical data requests as IB does have a limitation on how much you can access at a time.

When you say crashed, did you get a popup message saying Ninja had ran into a problem? If so, please provide the log and trace files. Thank you.

I got the pop-up message saying NT had a problem so have attached the requested files.

With the IB data restriction, I was not knowingly busting the IB limits. Going back 5 days for two 5 min charts and 4 instruments in market analyzer with 14 days look back on one of the std indicators. It shouldn't be anywhere near the IB limits.

        Is this crash reproducible?

        I see this:

You could have hit the restriction because of multiple tries which would all count towards the quota within x amount of time.

ok - I've deleted the market analyzer window, which was passed up from 6.5 and it now connects without any problem, no messages and in a timely manner. Looks like there was something going on in the market analyzer stuff, maybe a bug in 6.5 so may not be relevant here. Still, works ok now.

            laparker,

So this workspace was migrated from 6.5? Can you provide the 6.5 workspace? Thank you.

I deleted most of the open windows within the 6.5 workspace as this was giving problems as well. I will try and find a backup and post.
