Data corruption - day missing - unable to fix
I somehow got missing data on the ES ##-## and other instruments. I keep deleting the affected data sets in the instrument manager and then fix the database. However, when I relaunch NT7 the chart still only loads until the 12th - the 13th is missing
Any advice would be appreciated - I'm stuck.Tags: None

I'm missing the 13th for TF minute data, if I load volume chart it's there. ES is fine.
using latest .4 release. anyone else?

It seems completely random - other symbols work well. I upgraded to B4 and the problem persists. No matter what I do - even if I clear out the data and repair the DB the 13th is missing.Originally posted by bobbethgoo View PostI'm missing the 13th for TF minute data, if I load volume chart it's there. Really?
Josh - it's obvious that this is happening with other data vendors as well. I have submitted several support requests and among all of you it usually boils down to WFM. I can't keep spending my time testing your product if I can't more than one-liners in response.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Josh View Postmolecool,
Suggest you contact DTN directly and inquiry about their data for your instrument on that date.
Of course DTN works fine as I see the 11/13 data in Multicharts on the same machine using the same data feed. Again I am being treated like a noob - so, I'll just let you guys test your software on your own as I won't waste my time helping you if you won't take my support requests seriously.

If you can't get data even into 6.5 it is an indication there could be a hiccup in your particular data feed. Correlating Zen against DTN is absolutely irrelevant. Zen had known server issues over the weekend which could have impacted the user during the weekend for the 13th. DTN has no known problems over this date on any of our test machines which is why I asked you to contact them directly as it could be something with your particular account. They will be better equipped to help you evaluate the scenario through their diagnostic utilities. All NinjaTrader does is receive data like a radio receiver. What you could do is reload the historical data and see if you receive it then. I assumed you already did this so that leaves the data provider as the variable worth chasing which is why I suggested you to go down that route. If you feel differently please clarify what you are looking for.
Attached are pictures of DTN on my NT7 for all instruments discussed in this thread. I am seeing the same on my NT6.5.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service

molecool,
I have read all of your posts which is why I did not bother asking you to go through "the usual routine". As stated, DTN works fine here. Furthermore if you can't get it to work even in 6.5 it is an indication that something may have gone awry with your data feed. This is why I suggest you to go down that route.
To further cover all bases, please ensure you are on the correct IQFeed version: http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ad.php?t=21024Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Okay...
I just verified this on my testing system - after scrubbing all ES ##-## data from NT6.5, NT7, and Multicharts. I also rebuilt the database on both NT setups, then closed the app, and restarted my box. After reboot and relaunch of DTN, I also removed all existing charts created an entirely new workspace. Here's what I get:
NT6.5 - all ES data present
NT 7 - 11/16 missing - for some reason 11/13 is now there.
Multicharts - all ES data present
So, I think it's fair to say that there's a problem with NT7. Perhaps you guys will now acknowledge that fact and help find a solution.
FWIW - I am VERY disappointed to see the same data corruption issues we had to endure with 6.5. I have worked with Multicharts for over six months now and not ONCE did I run into this type of problem. It's sad to see that NT7 will most likely suffer from the same issues - perhaps you guys should consider a different type of data persistence framework as this does not look like an improvement and seems identical to what has come out of NinjaTrader for the past year or so.
Perhaps I'm biased and I'm the ONLY person experiencing these problems - after all, every time I post a problem I get the WFM treatment (i.e. Works For Me) - how's that for customer support - LOL!! If anyone else experiences these problems please chime in here.Last edited by molecool; 11-16-2009, 11:41 PM.

Based on the new information you have provided the scenario now is much different and clearer. Tomorrow, please confirm that you are then missing the 11/17 day with 11/13 and 11/16 present. That will confirm you are running into an issue with missing of the previous session's data.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Agreed - that's what I was planning on doing. Will be in touch tomorrow. Thanks for considering this issue.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Josh View PostBased on the new information you have provided the scenario now is much different and clearer.
