    Hello trader1512,

This is possible, see screenshot. However, when using multiple data series in one chart, the X-axis will use non-equidistant bar spacing.

      too choppy

unfortunately its a little too choppy to be valuable. thought the combination was supposed to allow time frame analysis. overall the charting scaling is not a homerun.

        trader1512,

Your expectations may be inaccurate. There is no way you can chart multi-series charts that just don't share the same common denominator. When you do a multi-series chart you are sharing the same x-axis. On a shared x-axis timeline there is absolutely no way you can paint bars evenly when the base denominator of the bars are not in sync with each other.

You can't just say I want to paint the 4 range bar at 9:30 and also the 7 range bar at 9:30 because that will make it look even. The 4 range bar closes at 9:30 and the 7 range bar may close at 9:33. You have to plot them when they close. It does not make any sense otherwise.

          expectations are expectations

you split the chart and allow for multiple axis timeframes. in essence you allow for a desktop with multiple components in it. pretty basic stuff. i think your product is the only one i have tried that continues to manage the components as standalone on the desktop. have i missed something.

also the scaling on the data series is frustrating. why doesnt it automatically center off the last bar. i am constantly manually adjusting.

            trader1512,

If you want to have separate x-axis just use two charts and flip on global crosshairs. NinjaTrader is done with independent windows which allows full flexibility in where you want to position each component across any monitor you may have open. This will not change.

If you are in fixed y-axis mode it is literally fixed. It will not adjust. If you want it to adjust, please use AutoScale mode which will show you price automatically adjusted to fit all the bars within the visible range onto the chart.

thanks but not what im looking for

i guess its hard for you to understand. if the charts are seperated then you are constantly having to dink around with them to keep them in sync. its unfortunate after all this time all that has changed is the look. the responses to questions are not customer friendly. its basically your way or the highway. i find that very disappointing.

maybe if there were traders doing the development instead of techies our problems would be better understood.

                trader1512,

Sorry if you felt my responses as not friendly, that for sure was not my intent. I was simply trying to convey the way NinjaTrader charts works and how what you are looking for is not supported by NT's usage model.

Your idea of a sort of "docked" or "tabbed" windows is already on our feedback list.

What you are asking for is two separate charts completely unrelated to each other. Scrolling back 1 mouse click on chart A and scrolling back 1 mouse click on chart B can yield charts in completely different times and be irrelevant to each other. As you scroll back like this you could end up with chart A being at 9AM and chart B being at 7AM. We believe there to be very little value in seeing this information especially with range charts when you simply don't know at what time a range bar will close. Bar #1 could be at 9AM and bar #2 could be at 10AM on chart A. On chart B, bar #1 could be 9AM and bar #2 could be 9:01AM. If you do find value in this type of analysis, unfortunately NinjaTrader does not have any prebuilt functionality to allow you to scroll multiple charts in step like that.

                  thank you for the feedback

yes, that is exactly what i am looking for. a main NT desktop with the ability to load the items onto the desktop. this way like an excel spreadsheet you can cascade, tile, etc. this would enable true scaling for charts by thier timeframe.

hopefully we will see that soon. i thougth during some presentation that was listed
