    NT7 Beta4 - Three issues to mention - MBTrading

While working with Beta 4, I have come across the following three issues. The first is much more of an issue for me, while the rest are less important...

Issue 1) When connected to MBTrading (Live account), I cannot load any historical tick/second data onto my chart (but live data comes in ok). Minute data is fine. Option to "Reload All Historical Data" is greyed out (when on tick/second chart), so NT7 seems to know that it's not available. In beta three the historical data from MB did'nt work at all (known reported issue). Checked on two different computers. One is Vista x64 with an upgrade of 6.5, while the other is Windows 7 x64. Tried an upgrade and clean install - makes no difference. NT 6.5 can download the tick/second data on the Vista workstation (always could). The "Download" tab from within "Historical Data Manager" fares no better. Tried using both versions of MBT Navigator. I can load the historical tick/second data if I connect to the Demo Gain account, so it looks like a MB specific error.

Issue 2) On the graph page, there is no longer any "drop down" choice for loading seconds or ticks (although call force it using shortcuts). Has this gone forever?

Issue 3) If "Exporting Ninjascript..." the export window mostly opens "off-screen". If off the top of the screen, then I can't move the window to click on any of the buttons. This is only a very minor error. Just thought I'd mention it.

    Thanks,

    1. Please be sure you are using MBT Navigator 11.3.0.4. Are you trying to pull forex data on MBT? We may have isolated an issue which may resolve your issue. Please try on next update.

    2. It has been removed. You can instead just type into the chart directly. If you want ticks, type 150T. Seconds can use 30S. Volume can use 1000V. etc.

    3. If it is outside your screen you can right click its taskbar tab and select Move. Then use your keyboard's up/down arrows to bring it down.

      Hi Josh,

      1) Yup, using MBT Navigator 11.3.0.4. It's the Forex data I'm trying to get to. I'll retest on the next update. For the moment, I can get historical data from version 6.5 and export it.

      2) Cool. Just wanted to make sure that it wasn't some sort of menu display bug on my specific installation environment.

      3) Only a small thing anyhow, just thougth I'd mention it. (Thought there was a window display option that you can set in the source code, that makes sure a "child window" opens on screen so that it's all on screen, assuming resolution is high enough).

      Thanks for your reply,

      Great product,

what happened to the updates from NT on NT7

it seems as though the status reports on NT 7 have stopped. i cant find the old thread anylonger either

here we are a year later and the new version is not available. instead those of us who do not have a beta copy are left with what appears to be an unsupported previous version.

over the last couple of weeks my charts have not loaded with all the data. some will and some wont so its not a data feed problem.

this morning i couldnt get any data to load for over 5 minutes, and lost out on the morning run.

this is costing money, when will you either stop your all hands focus on the new version and support us or issue the new version.

i suspect the new version is having problems that we are not aware of.

There is no need for any sort of speculations. NT7 is in non-public beta right now. By monitoring this forum (which you're obviously doing) you can see what progress is made (or not).

It sounds like historical tick data will be available to download from MBT with the next beta release. True? Also, MBT does data tests on their Forex data feeds which creates big data spikes. On my live NT 6.5 acct, I use NT real-time tick filtering to get rid of these spikes. NT7 doesn't provide filtering for historical tick data, correct?

              tradervick,

Believe you should be able to pull historical data. In 7, if you have a bad historical tick you can edit it in the Historical Data Manager.

                nt7 reply

we were promised by your top management to be informed on a maximum monthly basis on the status of the project. no i do not "monitor" this trip down cost me money lane. i tried finding the status thread and this is all i could find.

i and it seems others are having real problems with version 6.5 and it is costing us money.

i am not speculating on anything just find it unreasonable to be at such a disadvantage with this product at this time. by the time this is done i will have paid the lifetime support cost at least once over.

when i signed up for NT i was told the new version was coming out, this was over 6 monthss ago. i did not want to buy the lifetime version because i had no idea what to expect.

the only speculation going on is on Ninja Trader software licenses

                  Sorry, I don't follow.

Why would your decision to go for subscription vs life time (or vice versa) have anything to do when NT7 beta would be scheduled?

                  >> the only speculation going on is on Ninja Trader software licenses
Not sure what kind of speculation you would see a need for here.

                    speculation

the reason i chose to start using NT was because of its upcoming release. at the time i had the choice of a lifetime or month to month. not knowing what i would be getting i chose month to month thinking since the release date was very close i could evaluate it for a couple of months and then make a decision.

well seven and a half months later, i am still waiting and paying to evaluate vapor.

If NT7 would be your focus of interest, then I don't understand why you just haven't postponed your decision for purchase/subscription until NT7 is out. But thanks for highlighting your reasoning anyway.

Reload All Historical Data Command trouble

On several occasions I have experienced a similar issue with IB and the "Reload All Historical Data" command.

Usually in NT7B4 when the command succeeds, bars in the chart dissappear, and text appears indicating that data is being reloaded.

However when this command does not execute properly chart bars do not disappear, and the text message does not appear on the chart. Re-executing the command does not help. When I shut down and restart NT, and repair the database I can get the the command to execute.

                          Anyone else experiencing this?
