Formatting bar types

Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to set my chart so the candles are set a specific way, OHLC bars are set a specific way and HiLo bars are set a specific way. If I go through and set them up the way I want, when I switch to a different bar type it reverts back to NTs defaults. Is this a bug?

Have you saved the settings you wanted to be used as default? You would need to right click and select Save as Default.

Yes, I have done that for each bar type but it doesn't remember the settings

Which settings exactly are you trying to save. Defaults are saved on a per period type basis, not per instrument.

I am trying to save specific settings for bar styles, candle, OHLC and HiLo. So on my black background charts I want all bar types to be lime.

I see. The settings are saved on a per Period Type basis not a per Chart Style basis.

Right. There is only one default per Period Type currently.

Bar type defaults should be set at the chart level (for each bar type) not globally for just one bar type. The way it is set now makes it impossible to change bar types.

Chart style properties have to be per period type settings. Some period types do not support certain chart styles. This is the lowest common denominator for those settings.

I understand how you have it now. What I am saying is that it does not work the way it is. You should be able to switch bar types on any chart by going up to the tool bar and selecting the type you want, currently this is not possible due to having to set one bar type as the default.
