NT7B4 Chart not auto-scrolling (updating) with Price Based on "Ask"

    Hi,

I have a Zen-Fire connection, and noticed that with the following settings (ZN 12-09):

    Price based on: Ask
    Type: Second
    Value: 1

My chart sometimes immediately (sometimes a minute or more) stops it's auto-scrolling (updating) of the time-axis. Sometimes I get the >| in the right-upper corner (sometimes not). When I change my "Price based on" to "Last", no problems. I'm assuming the Bid/Ask aren't firing the same updates to the charts as the Last.

    Thanks

    bethewater,

Please describe the chart a little bit more. Single series? Multi-series? Equidistant bar spacing? OHLC? Candlestick? The bid/ask events are not necessarily the same as the last events so they can be different.

It's a multi-series candle stick, I add ZF 12-09 with the same parameters (Ask - 1 Second) via the add() method in Initialize().

Is it a multi-series chart as in you are viewing two series at the same time? Using an Add() in Initialize() only makes the indicator a multi-series indicator, but it is still a multi-series chart. Please try without the indicator.

Actually, this problems is there even when I don't attach an indicator or strategy (just a plain chart). If I do add the same instrument (as a secondary) chart with the "Last" type instead of "Ask", then it does work; but only updates when "Last" updates (at which point multiple "Ask" bars may show up simultaneously).

            bethewater,

Unfortunately I am not following you. Please describe exactly how you have your chart setup with exact instruments and the settings for each instrument. Also, which data provider are you using?

I think I described it in my original post... all I did was create a chart for the instrument: ZN 12-09, using a Zen-Fire (Mirus) connection, with the settings:

              Price based on: Ask
              Type: Second
              Value: 1

Problem: My chart's stops auto-scrolling (time axis) to the right, sometimes right away and other times after a very brief period. About half the time I'll get the >| icon. This happens with no interaction to the chart by me and with no indicators or strategies added.

              It's just that simple.

Got it, thanks. Can reproduce and will forward to development for resolution.

                  Hi bethewater !

This is a bug which was fixed. The solution will be available on the next update of NinjaTrader.

                  Kind regards,
                  Christian
