Chart Highlight Question...

When you left click on chart bars for any reason, no you get a lot of highlight squares all over the chart...and to get rid of you then have to click on a blank area of the chart. It is fairly easy to accidentally create these highlight squares a number of ways. Like if you have a chart tool on and you want to grab the end to adjust or move it ...it is very easy to highlight all of the chart bars instead now...then you have to take another shot at highlighting and grabbing the end point.....This did not happen in 6.5.

What is the reason for this this new chart highlight feature ??

You can already access the data series and chart properties by the right click context menu or use the Data Series or Chart Properties icons to access these windows....and you can also hit Ctrl-F to bring up the Data Series window.

- Select and right click to act on object
- Drag objects'
- Double click objects etc...

Do we really need this highlight feature ??...

Here is a short video on just some of the many ways to inadvertently highlight a chart now in NT 7, which then must be corrected to get rid of the many annoying highlight markings throughout the chart.

Left clicking on a chart in NT 6.5 did not highlight it....that was a clearly better solution in my (considered ) opinion...

i agree Alfred!
there are things that may look nice+easy for people only playing with charts + indicators -- but these features can be realy annoying for real traders if you are not able to set them to false.

also in this catogory there is the "doubleklick" in the chart-window that opens the chart- properties (or dataseries- / indicator-dialog in NT7 if you Doubleclick on it) - it is the hell if you activate it during running trades / strategys in NT6.5 for a misstake (can happen if you use the charttrader intensivly)- everything is frozen for 30 seconds or more.

If you implent such funcitons there should be be a way to selecet it as enabled / disabled to hit the needs of ALL diff. clients / user
