Revisions in Chart Properties do not persist after a restart...

In Chart properties...have the Right side margin set to 100 pixels default and Show toolbar as default. But when you revise a particular charts Right side margin to say 33 pixels and revise to not show Toolbar and then hit apply...all works OK...but when you then shutdown 7 and restart the revised chart reverts to the default settings of 100 pixels Right side and showing the Toolbar again also.

    Thanks...

Sorry, I could not reproduce. The chart with 33 pix right margin and toolbar not shown restores properly on NT restart.

Please make sure your are on NT7B3. In case issue persists: please provide step by step scenario on how to reproduce. Thanks

      Dierk...

I tried this on another computer and this works OK there upon restart...(as does the Chart Properties window opening in the correct form so the bottom is not hidden)

Wonder if I should uninstall NT7B3 and reinstall ...any suggestions ??
I tried renaming the data base ...that made no difference.

Tried reparing NT from the remove programs area and got a hang up there...said could not find a file needed...

      Thanks...

        Dierk...

Uninstalled NT7B3 and reinstalled...replaced 2 of 3 small windows in workspace where toolbar had reappeared upon restart.

Things now restore OK on restart with 33 pix and no toolbar applied to several small windows....same as was showing upon exit. (& 100 pix right side margin and toolbars OK on all other default windows.)

        Thanks !!

I have been having intermittent problems with chart properties not persisting as well but was never able to reproduce on a consistent basis.

I think I now have a reproducible scenario (this assumes the NT default chart properties).

          1. Delete all XML files from the workspaces directory with the exception of _Workspaces.xml.
          2. Start NinjaTrader
          3. Create a new chart. "ES 12-09", 5 min, Candle Stick
          4. Create a new chart. "^TICK", 5 min, OHLC
          5. Create new chart. "ADD", 5 min, Line On Close
          6. Using the chart properties dialog, change the background color of the ^ADD chart to something other than white.
          7. Exit NT and save "Untitled1" workspace.
          8. Restart NT. Background color of the ^ADD chart reverts back to white.

Here's hoping that it's reproducible for you because it's driving me crazy.

I installed a new copy of NT7B3 on an extra computer yesterday.

Just tested the persistence thing there...chart persistence qualities seem to be working OK for me there now also.

Created several charts with toolbars (in my default chart properties)...
Changed to no show toolbars (did not set as default then...just apply)...then exited and restarted...came up without toolbars OK upon restart....this is the area I initially had problems with...

            Thanks....

Sorry we hadn't been able to reproduce. We tried official NT7B3 as well as our latest internal development sources.

May be a fresh NT7 setup makes a difference:
              - save your Config.xml to maintain connection settings
              - uninstall NT7
              - manually remove all settings and data by manually deleting the folder <my documents>/NinjaTrader7
              - download and install again NT7B3
              - put back Config.xml

I am seeing this problem in B5. It is intermittent though.

I have a single workspace with two charts, both charts are set to same symbol but different chart types (one renko and one 1-min), no indicators. If I change one or both right margins, then shut down and save workspaces, then start back up, sometimes one or both right margins are back at the defaults. If I then change one margin, shut down and save, and restart, sometimes it changes the margin on the other chart back to the defaults.

Every time I think I have a reproducible scenario, it starts working. Later, it reappears.

This happens even when I start with a fresh workspace and charts.

                It is very strange.

                  aslane,

If you do happen to pin it down we would be interested to hear about how. Thanks for your efforts.
