NT 7 Beta 3 – Importing data issue

Using the Historical Data Manager I imported a text file of Emini Russell 2000 minute data. Specific settings include “timestamps in import file(s) represent end of bar time” and a data type of “Last”

The data in the text file is from 20020715 to 20090713. When displaying the data on a chart (TF 12-09) the Last Date only goes to 20080312.

I have no other data sources installed at this point. This was a clean install of the beta 3 with no previous versions installed. I sent the file to your support address with “NT 7 Beta 3 – Importing data issue” in the subject.

    HT101,

For some reason we were unable to retrieve the file you included in your email. Can you please try uploading that file to a file hosting service somewhere and providing us the link? You could try rapidshare.com. Thank you.

Josh - sent an email to support with a link. This file contains data from 20030227 - 20090227 but the data loaded will only display 20080312 as the last date. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks.

        HT101,

I don't believe your file naming convention will work. You would likely need to name it something like

        TF ##-##.Last.txt

You mean for you to download the file?

Right. Please rename your file as your current file name may have adverse impact on the import process. Then you can check what you have in the Historical Data Manager under Tools.

              HT101,

I was importing futures data also recently.

You talk about TF data from 2002 to 2009 in one file?

Presumably this is backadjusted future data importet as TF 12-09 ?

I did the same and it will not work.

You must import all the relative contracts, so starting from TF 03-02 until TF 12-09 and import the 3 month chunks indipendendly and NOT backadjusted.

              NinjaTrader will backadjust for you!

(working fine, except for FGBL where I have a big gap around sep and june 2009 boundary)

Andreas - thanks I will keep that in mind.

Josh - I changed the filename to "TF 12-09.Last.txt" imported the data - checked the edit tab to verify the data covered in the file has been imported to NT. It worked, however the data on the chart still only displays to 20080312. Can you reproduce?

On my end I can get the chart back to 2003. Please check your number of days back. I just set mine to 3650.

Josh - not the first date on the chart - the last date is the issue. Check out these images.

Was not able to reproduce. Suggest you try to just use DaysBack and load last 5 days .

I get the same results using days back.

I have reproduced the issue on multiple machines including Windows 7 64-bit and Windows XP 32-bit.

If anyone else would like to try to reproduce here's a link to the data: http://rapidshare.com/files/29917881....Last.zip.html. Remember to delete your existing TF data and don't connect to a broker or data provider. This minute data is from 20030227 to 20090227.

                          HT101,

Use DaysBack, and set it to 5. The last date should be the last date of your data. Do you get a blank chart then?

I see an issue here which we needed to look into as our expert is back early next week. We will keep you posted. Thanks for pointing out that problem.
