NT 6.5 VS 7 at Max Compression Chart Appearance

Charts in 6.5 and 7 at max compression are noticeably different in appearance.

The 6.5 charts look much cleaner. In 7 the horizontal tick marks at price levels are more pronounced and clutter the appearance of the chart quite a bit.

6.5 charts definitely look better. An Alt up/dn arrow attempted adjustment will not clean up the tick marks in the NT 7 chart to make it look like 6.5.

Screen shots of 6.5 and 7 below.

    Thanks

Also....Bar width was set to 1 in Data Series window in 7.

    Thanks...

To clarify, you are using OHLC bars style correct?

Using OHLC...Yes...these definitely do not look similar to minimum width bars (1) as in 6.5.

          Alfred,

I just tried on my end and the bars turned out the same for NQ and ES. Please verify you are actually at the same zoom level.

Josh...yes ...am at max compression on each example...

Here are 2 more screen shots...the tick marks at price levels are more apparent in 7. Have noticed this on other charts also...can appear a bit more fuzzy in 7.

Can anyone else verify this ??

Josh...is the difference in the two screen shots in post #1 below apparent to you ??... These were each set up at max compression and bar width 1.

              Thanks...

Suggest you check exact same time periods instead of comparing apples to oranges with different time slices.

Difference is barely visible, but again you are comparing different time slices so it would be expected to be different.

Time slices have nothing to do with the appearance...

But here ya go...screen shots of similar right edge times in 6.5 and 7...(the window in 7 may be a bit wider)...

Tick marks at price levels are more apparent in 7...

                    Alfred,

Your NT7 screenshot is showing significantly more bars than your 6.5 screenshot. This is why they look different. Because it is more compressed than 6.5.

                      Compression was maxed all charts...

I will fuss around and get 2 identically sized charts to examine....

                      Thanks..

Man...this beta test stuff is work sometimes !...

I stuck a "postit" on my screen and got the 6.5 and 7 charts the same size within a few pixels am sure...set max Ctrl up arrow compression and max Alt up arrow narrow bars in each.

There appears to be more time span of data in the 7 screen shot...
Wonder whats up ??...tick marks in 7 not quite as pronounced here...

Now here are 6.5 and 7 .....set up in identically sized 10 seconds charts to compare...

There appear to be less tick bars in 7 in similar amounts of time
looking at the shots in the previous post...correct ??

                            Alfred,

Perhaps you could try this. 6.5, disconnect from your data provider and then export your data. Then in 7, delete all data and then import your 6.5 export and compare a full screened chart.

Here are 2 more recent tick charts...the one on the left is 6.5...on right is 7...they do not look the same at all...I set up carefully with almost the same time at the vertical line at right side each one...

Josh...how do similar tick charts in 6.5 and 7 appear for you ??...similar or different ??

Let me know...then if need be can do the export data thing you suggested...thanks...
