Format Draw Tools

Question re default global setting on a draw tool...

After placing a draw object on a chart...then right click for properties...select Attach to: NQ 12-09(All charts)...then select default...

OK...the object then appears on all NQ charts in the workspace. (just had one workspace open) ....but the next time you apply this same draw object you have to go through resetting the same tool again for the global feature to get it applied globally...the default does not seem to work to be able to reproduce on all charts again. Don't you want this global default setting to work until revised to a non global setting for a tool ??....if placing a number of objects globally during the day...you just do not want to have to completely reset every time you place an object.

Also...I agree with others suggestions in the Forum that one could somehow select which charts (or which panels in a multi-series chart) and workspaces in which global draw objects would be placed...perhaps a setting in a chart to not accept global objects for that chart....there is just too much possible clutter on some charts as it works globally now.

Global setting currently is not part of the default, will add this to our feedback list. I don't recall if there was a reason why this was excluded.

Josh...here are a couple of screenshots attached...now in NT7B4 you do not have an option to have a colored line in the initial set up line on all Fibo tools...in NT6.5 if you left the top box unchecked you could get just a colored setup line if desired. These lines were accessable by hot key...very very useful....now in NT7B4 you are stuck with this thin pastel setup line one color only in all fibo tools....a major definite step backwards...how come this was changed in NT7B4 ??...this monochromatic setup line as you have it now is simply just not really workable...

Global Draw Tools True / False Setting Suggestion...

What about having a True / False setting in Chart Properties for Show Global Draw Tools on a chart...this way when you select the global draw tools setting for all charts of an instrument you could selectively easily turn it off or back on for particular charts of that instrment if desired....much like one can now elect True / False to show Chart Trader on a chart.

Global draw tools default setting does not persist.

Attempting to set a global default on several draw tools does not seem to persist...you can get the tool to duplicate on similar charts the first time after setting the global default...but then you have to apply the global default again each time you use the tool globally. Seems to work the same way on two machines. NT7B4.

Global draw objects is a per object setting instead of a per tool setting. You will have to set each object you would like global as global.

Perhaps there would be some value in offering alternate check boxes in each Draw Tools properties window to be able to set the Global feature per object or per tool.

The "Attach to" being set as default feature will be available in the next beta version. Thank you for your suggestion and patience.
