Format Draw Tools

Hi...formatting the Andrews pitchfork for example...unchecking all boxes and setting new colors and weights in the 2 top greyed out boxes..it will plot OK initially...but then when go to a hot keyCtrl+F8 to plot again.it reverts to the way it was initially...am I doing something incorrect here ??....want to be able to set a specific default on all draw tools and have them work again from the various hot keys.

The Fibonacci Extensions Properties also reverts to the NT default settings after altering the settings and using a hotkey to apply the (revised) tool...

Incidentally...you still cannot change the Dash Style in the first couple of boxes on many draw tools...that needs a fix

Also...agree with a previous comment that global draw tools should be selective as to charts to apply to and the tools selective for duplication on charts....

Can one set a hotkey for the various draw tool templates one may set up ??...

#1 - On Pitchfork, it would seem a "Set default" button is non-existent --> This would be needed to persist changed settings

#2 - You would need to save settings via a template for Fibonacci object and select a template to apply

#3 - Can you provide a specific example? I tried a few and they all work for me.

Ray...on #4...my view...the global setting for draw tools duplication seems like overkill...some charts best left for other tasks...

Yes, default will be added, this is a bug. Sorry I was not clearer.

On #2, I am not sure I am following you 100%. I tried a few things and all works as expected. I would truly appreciate if you could provide me a step by step account of what you do, what occurs and what is expected.

On Fib Circles, I can set the 100% plot to any style I want. Your screenshot earlier shows it set to Solid as well. Please clarify what you mean by it only allowing Dash. Thank you.

If you uncheck the 100% box...you will then get just the line from the center to 100...unchecked, I will set that to default then......that line can only be a dashed line as things are now....there is no place to format it...similary on a number of other draw tools for the initial line with all boxes unchecked....

I often use these schematic initial draw tool lines in this tool and from other draw tools as I need some options on different colored simple objects that I can hit a hot key for and get them quickly.

If you are going to unselect all the plots for the fibs, couldn't you use F2 to draw a regular line instead?

Yes...I use F2 also for different purposes...in a particular color etc....

Guess I am not sure what you mean. When you remove all plots from a Fib it is just a line. You could draw the same line with F2 and change it to any color/style you want.

I use all of the tools below with all boxes unchecked to get different colored lines and objects so that I can access each quickly wth a hot key. Fussing around changing a particular tools color etc every time you need it will not cut it...this must be done easily and quickly...effortlessly...

Fib time extension
line
fib extensions
fib circle
andrews pitchfork
fib retrace (2 colors)

I can live with the dashed initial line on all of these tools...but graphically it would be a more elegant solution to have options on dash style here...

I could actually use a few more options also...that is why I am hot for hot keys on the new draw tool templates.

Sounds more like you are looking for multiple line templates as opposed to anything to do with fibs. Is this accurate?

I find a schematic Andrews Pitchfork tool useful...with this you can make projections above and below the chart margins and see where your graphic target is. 2 color variations on this would be ideal....

For line variations ideally I would use around 8 variations of colors and styles....without getting into the specific trading techniques used....
I can currently cobble together enough stuff as it is...but the elements of style and elegance are lacking.

So yes...if you had hot keys available on the draw tools templates...that would open up lots of graphic options...there are many ways to configure those tools and easy access with hot keys would be super.
