    connection errors / problems

got the NT7 beta 2 ... installation went great, no errors.

data was migrated over (took about 10m) ... went to connect to my broker using zen-fire (connection was migrated over for me), but something's not right.

    here's a screen shot:

the log suggests that i was connected in less than a minute; however, the status in the lower-left constantly says "connecting..." and never turns green showing that i am connected.

let me know what additional information i can provide.
    thanks,
    -e

Please email me your zipped DB file <my documents>/NinjaTrader.7/db/NinjaTrader.sdf to "dierk AT ninjatrader DOT com" for further research.

After that you may delete that file to get you going with a fresh DB. Thanks

25mb -> 3mb ... sent you an email so you can pull it off my FTP server (not sure it'll make it thru my mailserver).

let me know if you need anything else.

      cheers,

just to follow-up ... after renaming/deleting the corrupt db, i started NT7b2 again and it connected just fine.

must have been something in my particular migration that caused the error. altho there may be others, here is one thing i can think of that might have contributed:

        #
i did not migrate over any of my custom indicators or strategies ... i moved them to a subdirectory under C:\Users\<username>\Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin\Custom\Indicator called "_nt65_" (same for Strategies) ... not sure if the data in the mdb referenced custom assemblies that were never built and might have thrown an exception.

hope this helps. thanks for the quick resolution!

        cheers,

We fixed a bug related to migration NT6.5 DBs. This bug would result in a corrupted NT7 DB and would exhibit the behavior you guys experienced.

@e-man: Thanks for your DB which helped isolating the issue.

                pleasure!

when the b3 comes out, i'll do a clean install for you and repeat my steps, etc. to verify the patch.

                cheers,
