DrawObject levels

in the webinar Ray showed how to click on a DrawObject, hold down the shift key, and use the scroll wheel to have the object move from front to back to front levels.

can this be done programatically?

for instance I always want the text I plot to describe a line to be on top of the line...this is very hard to achieve manually as NT selects the line instead of the text object

This not supported although on a list of potential changes.
