NT does not Start

I am finding that I need to do an install and select the repair option every time I shutdown and restart NT.

As of this evening, I did a fresh install with the latest build.

Windows Update does not report the need to download anything that relates to the issue.

Even if I run it for just a couple of minutes, I have the issue. I see nothing in the task manager that relates to NT - running.

Sorry we would not know what causes this. May be you could try on a different machine.

I have no other machine with Vista. This is the 2nd machine I have tried to install it on. I will remove it and clean the registry and try a fresh install.

Sounds great. Also: please make sure you have .NET 2.0 installed.

I used regedit, removed everything related to NT, did a fresh install, updated and checked for all Vista software updates (net 2.0 was installed already).

Same issue.

I thought I posted an update ...but I did not see it.

I installed NT in a Win2k machine (I know it is not to be run on Win2k).

It started and restarted each time I tried it.

The computer I am having problems with is an HP, Vista Premium - about 3 months old.

Odd... is this by chance a Vista64 bit machine?

And today it started on the Vista machine a number of times... not having made any changes.

Maybe it was the sledgehammer I placed on the case?

And today it would not start. No start even after reinstalling NT.

Would you recommend XP over Vista?
