    Chart updates

    I have a number of charts in a workspace. When I open the workspace and connect to my zenfire broker some, but not all of the charts update. I can press the reload data button and again some of the charts that were not updating will now go to the current time but others will not and I do not seem to ever get the to update. I hav to close the chart and open a new chart. Is this a common problem?? Is there a know fix or workaround??

    Next time this happens could you check the following -

    - In the chart that is not updating, right click and select Format Data Series, what is the "Last Date" value
    - Also, what exact version are you on (Help > About)

      Version is 6.5.0.9 which I installed this AM. This has been happening in the past however on v8 also.
      In each of the charts (responsive and non) the date is todays date 2/19/08

        On the non-responsive charts -

        - What is the session time?
        - Do you get market data for the instrument in the non-responsive chart if you select it any an order entry window?

          This happens to me too. When it happens, I have to remove the chart and open a new one before it responds. And this is with a 24 hour session time and it does receive market data in the DOM.

            Do you have some idea of how it happens?

            - 24 hour chart is a good piece of information
            - How do you request data for the chart? Days Back? Bars Back etc...
            - What instrument type?
            - Is NT running from the prior day to the day where the problem appears or have you restarted NT?
            - Connected to who?
            - Were you using Market Replay at all in between when it was working and when it stopped working?

              This is occurring for minute charts for my futures. Sometimes it happens to the ES, other times for YM or FDAX.

              This problem occurs when I restart NT.

              I am connected to both Zen Fire and Open Tick, with Zen Fire being the first connection and Open Tick the second.

              No, I was not using Market Replay at all.

                Hi mazachan !

                Does you OpenTick feed run with delayed data ?

                - Do you stay connected, or do you sometimes connect/disconnect ?
                - when the problems happen, do they happen on all instruments, or only on some of the open charts ?

                Please make sure, that you always connect in the same sequence. If you e.g.:
                - open NT
                - open 1 min charts on YM, ES and FDAX
                - connect to Zen
                - connect to OpenTick
                - disconnect from Zen
                data is fetched from OpenTick, which doesn't support FDAX. This will not change, if you connect to Zen again, so the chart will stop updating.

                  Interesting

                  I too have the data feeds of ZenFire and OpenTic. I have not had the problem in the past couple of days as I am closing the program and reloading it in the am after a reboot. I was having some loading problems as noted in another thread.
