Backup of Templates and stratagies

Is there a way to backup templates and stratagies or will copying certain folders do the 'job'?

- you NEVER should manually copy ANY NT installation folder
- NT6.5 has a back up feature (File->Utilities->Backup)
- strategy templates are stored in the DB

I hear you. What can one do if they want to make a new installation, and want to use templates and strats from another computer?

Use the backup utility then go to your other computer and use the backup file there.

HELP Rebuild Strategy after .NET 2.0 updates crash

I have a folder on desktop in which I had saved the folder @ MyDoc>NinjaTrader6.5 nightly..today a ms .NET security update sent RAM crazy till ran out of mem and shut NT down. Lost ControlCenter defaults, broker AccountConnections, and my 6.5 Stratgies. I tried to 'copy/paste' my saved stratgies into: MyDoc>NT6.5>bin>custom>stragey But even though they are visable NT does not see them.....then I found this thread...What to do ?? I am back to only .NET Framework 2.0 and NT6.5 working But NEED to get strategies back. I tried to do the 'Help>Mail to Support but got repetitive errors

If you have created backups by File->Utitlies->Backup you just can restore from that backup.

I have not used the Utilitiy to create a back-up because untill reading this thread I was not aware it was there . I had been just copy from MyDoc>6.5 to a folder on desktop as a back-up.

Note: We strongly recommend to NOT copy ANY files/folders manually.

However, to get you back working you could try copying the DB file <your backup folder>/db/NinjaTrader.mdb to <my documents>/NinjaTrader6.5/db/NinjaTrader.mdb
