How to remove Ghost Overlays?

sometimes this happens, it is annoying. Perhaps it will go away if I restart, but I would rather not restart ninja... especially during trading.

This is a graphics rendering issue. Please try disabling hardware acceleration on your graphics card.

I did have similar problems on another notebook... XP... with another application... JAVA... so completely different hardware and software and OS.

Does this mean that if it works that I have to keep hardware acceleration off? is hardware acceleration used by vista aero? my graphics card is a little underpowered (i.e. not discrete), so I'd like to avoid anything that slows down my system.

if I upgrade to latest nvidia driver, would that solve this? what are the chances that would solve it? or is there some secret .net patch I need?

Unfortunately we are no hardware experts. I suggest trying along the lines outlined by Josh's post.

do you know what the technical term for this behaviour is? so I can google how to fix it. I thought I disabled hardware acceleration yesterday, but still have the same problems.
