    realtime data problem

    Hi Support,

I am on Ninja 6.5.0.8 and NQ data is not updating in realtime. All other data like ES is working fine. NQ was also working fine, the problem started today morning. When I try to reload data for NQ, the data gets reloaded but it doesn't get updated in realtime.

Tried restarting Ninja, and other things like opening a new workspace with only NQ and the problem doesn't go. I am using zenfire/IB datafeed. I know datafeed is fine as I know it is working for other traders.

Can you please suggest how to proceed?

    Thanks
    RK

Does Tools->Options->Misc->Reset Instruments make any difference?

      Hi Dierk,

Tried reset of instruments and then reload of NQ data. But problem still exists. It reloads data fine, but it doesn't update in realtime.

      Thanks

Update on chart? On control center? Else?

Also: Please make sure you are on latest 6.5.0.8 or 6.0.1000.9. Thanks

          Hi Dierk,

Yes, I am on 6.5.0.8. Neither the control center nor the chart updates. But it is working for all other instruments very well.

            Can you restart NT.

            - Tools > Instrument Manager > remove NQ 03-08 from the Default list on the left side by pressing the ">" button.
            - Then add it back with the Globex exchange
            - Connect to Zen only --> Do you get data?

              Thanks Ray.

I tried what you suggested and now I am able to get realtime data for NQ.

Also once in a while I am getting this error when I am loading a regular tick chart for like 15 days, "Unable to load selected amount of chart data. Please selct a smaller timeframe. Exception of type 'System.OutOfmemoryException' was thrown." I got it today after I tried what you suggested. I clicked OK and it is working fine. I am on 6.5.0.8

              Thanks

Tick data does require a lot of RAM especially on volatile markets. Just try decreasing 15 days to maybe 10 or 5 days.

                  Ninja OutofMemory Exception

                  Hi Josh/Support,

I have been receiving this OutofMemory exception many times now in 6.5.0.8 when I load charts other than time based for like 10 to 15 days.
"Unable to load selected amount of chart data. Please selct a smaller timeframe. Exception of type 'System.OutOfmemoryException' was thrown."

And sometimes after this error, I get a a "Error" Message saying Ninja needs to be shutdown and I have to shutdown Ninja.

It was working very well in Ninja 6.0.x, I used to load like 30 days of tick data in futures. I have 4gb of Ram in my system. In 6.5.0.8, for like 10 to 15 days, itself I am getting outofmemory exception.

                  Thanks
                  RK

Please reduce your lookback size to less than 30 days.

                      Hi Dierk,

I already reduced the lookback size to like 10 to 15 days. But I keep getting the error once in a while "Unable to load selected amount of chart data. Please select a smaller timeframe. Exception of type 'System.OutOfmemoryException' was thrown."

And sometimes this error is followed by a "Error" Message saying Ninja needs to be shutdown and I have to forcefully shutdown Ninja.

It would be nice if you can please support lookback size of atleast 30 to 45 days in Ninja 6.5, similar to Ninja 6.0.x. In Ninja 6.0.x, I didn't experience any forceful shutdown problems when lookback size was 10 days or even 30 to 40 days.

                      Thanks
                      RK

I then suggest trying to isolate the cause of trouble by steps provided here: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...anceTips1.html
