Workspace Bug

Easy for you to say I have too many things on my charts, because I identify all my waves (Elliott count) on different time frames, so I really can't afford to start all over again. Do you have any other suggestions.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Dierk View Post

Workspaces now OK under 6.5.9
Under 6.5.8 I had to reinstall NT after trying to create several workspaces, so I did not touch it again (by fear of losing my work).
Under 6.5.9 everything works fine. Congratulations!
A very little observation: The default workspace cannot be closed. So if I select another workspace and then connect, it is not the selected but the default workspace that would update its backfill first. So I have to wait until the charts of the default workspace have been backfilled before the backfill for my active workspace starts. This can take some time if you use IB...
Is it possible to start backfill with the selected workspace? Which is the order for updating charts/instruments, if there are several open workspaces?

Workspace and charts could not be opened
So another experience: Have saved a workspace for FOREX. When I opened it, chart did not show up (could not connect to instrument). Also impossible to open new chart. New charts would just display "instrument" on the upper left and remain empty.
After I closed the FOREX workspace I could not open any more charts in the default workspace, in the same way. Sometimes NT is really driving me crazy. Otherwise workspaces seem alright in NT 6.5.9.
After closing down and restarting NT everything was fine.Attached Files

Still some workspace bugs
Currently when I start NT 6.5.9 there are two workspaces (which I do not want). The default workspace is shown on the screen, the menu list does not show the default workspace but the commodities workspace. I can toggle via Shift F3 to the commodities workspace and close it. Next time I reopen NT unfortunately it is there again, with only one of the two workspace showing up on the menu - sometimes it reads default, sometimes commodities, but they are there forever.
The secret workspaces are causing problems, if I do not realize that they are there, because they will download backfill upon connection and thus slowing down or halting NinjaTrader.

Hanging again
Just started NT again this evening (all workspaces are new, NT repaired this morning), had two workspaces open and connected. When loading the data for the charts, NT collapesed when retrieving ^TRIN. First it showed a popup saying "Saving" (no instrument specified), then after a couple of minutes - I was waiting with patience - the screen "NT has a problem and dees to be shut down!" The trace file stops ath the moment when it downloads ^TRIN. The last line in the log file is again "Maximum number of 101 tickers has reached". So I cannot even start NT. Do you have any suggestions what I should do to get started?

Workspace Bug not resolved in 6.5.9
Have completely cleaned all directories and reinstalled NT6.5.9 and TWS. After creation of a second workspace, NT crashed again when loading backfill. So again cleaned directories and reinstalled NT. No more experiments with workspaces now, I am staying with the default workspace and everything works fine so far.
Also - I did not realize it before - the message with the familiar machine gun noise (see below) is back. It is comparable to the Hound of Baskerville, if it does not bark, something is wrong. When using other workspaces this message would not appear but NT would simply freeze.
