TS8.3 to NT to MBT ?

I had be operating under the assumption that I could run 8.3, generate signals and have them traded at other brokers.

If that is correct, how do I do it?

When a signal goes off it says there isn't market data available. Manual trades work.

Looking at the log...

When a manual trade is entered the symbol in the log is $GBPJPY

When the trade fails via email the symbol in the log is GBPUSD

I deleted last posts since I raised the wrong questions. Here we go again:

a) what TS instrument are you triggering signals for?
b) what's your instrument mapping for this instrument in NT? (Tools->Instrument manager->Edit instrument in question->Misc->Mapping for external)

The symbol in TS is GBPJPY

NT Symbol map for MBTrading is GBP/JPY
NT Symbol map for Simulator is GBPJPY

None are $GBPJPY

$GBPJPY is just NTs textual notation for the GBPJPY pair (like ES 03-08 for futures).

I still get the error mentioned ...no data available.

There is no data available from MBT for this instrument -> NT sim account can't process the order.

Please throw the GBPJY e.g. on the market analyzer to turn on market data subscription for that instrument. If still not working then you would need to contact MBT on why there is no streaming data for that instrument.

I can place a manual trade through either MBT NAV or NT.

I would guess the same issue exists for all currency pairs.

Is that still MBT?

Please make sure you are subscribed to GBPJPY by e.g. selecting this instrument on the order entry panel in the control center.

As you then see data coming in, you can trade this instrument on the sim (!) account by manual orders or by orders placed via ATI. If you don't see any data coming in, then this would be an MBT issue.

Under instrument when added, it becomes $GBPUSD and it works.

Please see below: You need to make sure you stay subscribed to this instrument. Otherwise there won't be any market data available for the sim account to work properly.
