    Last Date Not Changing

    Hello,

Sometimes when NT is running overnight, the "Last Date" does not move forward at the start of a new day. It only seems to be an issue with daily charts, the intraday charts work as expected. I am not using market replay or doing any back-testing, just running a couple of charts, market analyzer, and a DOM. Is this a known issue, anything I can do on my end?

    V6.5 B4

    Thanks,
    Guy

      Hi TraderGuy !

Have checked it, seen no problem.

      1) to which data provider do you connect ?
      2) does this occur 'always' or only 'sometimes' ?
      3) you say the last date does not change. To which position in the application do you refer ? If this occurs again, please see, if:
      - the caption of the chart changes
      - the timestamp of last last bar in chart (the one which is drawn new) changed
      - the last date in the format data series dialog (if this doesn't change, this is expected)
      - other ?
      4) when this happens, is there a new bar drawn on the actual day ?
      5) if you close NT and reopen it, is the last date on the position you mentioned ok ?

Thanks for taking your time tio answer my questions.

      Kind regards,
      Christian

        Hello,

Thanks for looking into this, some answers.

        1) IB

        2) It seems like it always has the condition with IB when I leave the charts open overnight, but I can't say this with certainty. It did happen again today and it was both the intraday chart and the daily.

        3) There is no new bar drawn on the daily chart, and the Last Date in the Format Data Series remains the previous days. (Are you saying this is normal?)

        4) No

        5) Have not tried that, just adjusted date, next time I'll give it a try.

        Thanks,
        Guy

I think I have a similar issue when upgrading to Beta 6

Installed B6 .. restart NT, connect to feed... Charts not updating.
            - Format Data Series .. and yesterdays (Jan 16) date is displayed
            - Change to today .. and all is well...

pain to go and change this for all the charts though.

              Hi zoltran !

              1) To which feed do you connect ?
              2) what charts (daily ? minute ? tick ?) do you use ?
              3) if you 'save workspace' and quit NinjaTrader, open it again, do the chart(s) open with the right 'To' date ?

Unfortunately we could not reproduce this error until now.

              Kind regards,

I have been seeing this as well, I am having to recreate charts after market open if they are not updating. I trade Nasdaq stocks, data feed is IQFeed.

                  Hi Christian

                  - IQFeed
                  - 1xVolumee chart, and 2x Minute charts (5 and 120)
                  - Don't know .. I will try this the next time and send workspace if the problem persists.

I only see this problem occasionally ...

                    3) Tried this, chart opened back up with previous days date

I've experienced this often, but only a few times a bug was the cause, which have all been fixed already btw.
Often when I pull up the format data series window, last date is not set to the current date.
Sometimes I manually change it but I suspect it doesn't update to the current date from time to time.

I had the same experience with some charts yesterday. The charts where left on over midnight - but this is where it gets interesting - I had a 1 minute, a 60 min and a 120min all open to the same instrument and only the 120 failed to roller over to the new date! SO had to use format data series and select the next date. I use IB.

This problem seems to be happening consistently with the newer betas.

Am running Beta8 today .. all charts have the 'wrong' end date. Some had Jan 26, others Jan 24. Had to reset to todays date using FormatDataSeries .

I had left NT running over the weekend.
                              - Suspended the PC (power save)
                              - Resumed PC this morning - reconnected to IB data feed
                              - All charts have wrong date as per above
                              - Closed/Reopened workspace - no change, - still wrong
                              - Restart NT - no change
                              - Had to manually reset each chart as per above

I took a copy of the workspace when I restarted NT and will send to support.

Before I do that .. do you need the indicators that these charts use as well?
